Lennox Lewis vs. Ike Ibeabuchi in 1997

A spin-off of the prime Mike vs. prime Ike thread. Who wins?

 

Lummox by clear UD, or maybe late TKO. Ike wouldnt have beaten Lewis, but at least he woulda put up a better fight then that HBO creation Grant did.

It would go exactly the same as the Briggs fight. Ike would land a couple of nice shoots but in the end would end up on the bad end of Lennox's jab and right cross.

 

You'll be hard-pressed to find anyone backing Ibeabuchi, IMO --- & rightly so.

 

I could see Ibeabuchi providing Lewis some trouble early, but once Lennox lands some power shots and establishes his jab it's all down hill for Ike.

 

Yeah I'll take the consensus here, I think Ike will be game but once Lummox utilizes his 84" reach of a jab he'll take over

It would've been Ike and not Grant had he not gone bonkers. It would've been Grant vs. Ike (instead of Golota). And Ike surely would've won.

How many against world-class opposition? This is more than a certain Lewis triumph, it's a mismatch.
