How often can you see Torres, Aldo, Cerrone, Varner all free on a Thursday night.

This is really a sick WEC card. The Varner-Cerrone rematch is main event worthy but we also get a can't-miss slugfest with Aldo and Gamburyan!!!

Pace looked really big but still got schooled. Pretty disappointing.

Roop just landed a devastating high kick KO on Jung.

    Stetched.

    Roop's KO was brutal.

Jose Aldo is 100% badaaaasss. I just absolutely love watching him fight. Its like you are watching MJ pick apart the Knicks. It just doesn't seem fair.

Aldo is the next big thing for sure. I bet he goes to the UFC very soon.

Aldo is a bad man, but I'm calling it right now. If he moves to 155 he's going to have problems with the bigger wrestlers in the UFC.

Cerrone vs Varner was pretty good. I'm glad Cerrone got the win he deserved. The last fight was not conclusive at all. No acting job could save Varner from the ass whoop this time.

The guy easily has the frame for 155. I hope we see him in the UFC Lightweight mix soon.

In all honesty, what interesting matchups are left in the WEC's 145 pound roster? Josh Grispi doesn't stand a chance.

145 might be interesting if guys like Fernandes, Pittbull, Warren or Soto were in the WEC.

    Imagine Aldo-Penn, Aldo-Florian, Aldo-Maynard, etc.

Aldo will be a smaller LW, Frankie Edgar size and although I think Aldo is a fucking bad ass, his style against bigger guys might just cost him. Edgar has a better style for a smaller guy, he's way more defensive and doesn't clinch or engage in close much. I'd love to see how Aldo would do at 155 in the UFC though.

Aldo is 5'7" and has long limbs. I think he can add the weight and be a legitimate lightweight. I don't think he will be as undersized as Edgar, but losing the size advantage he as at 145 is what makes 155 so interesting.

Michihiro Omigawa, Josh Grispi, Chad Mendes.

In the future, hopefully showdowns with Warren, Flash, and Sandro are possible.

Half won't happen because they aren't Strikeforce fighters. And most, like Grispi, Mendes and Warren are guys that haven't done enough to be in the same arena with Aldo, let alone in the cage with him.

TLC just likes to be a contrarian at times. Seriously, is there anyone outside of TLC that would prefer Aldo-Grispi over something like Aldo-Penn or Aldo-Florian?

Even the very best of the potential match-ups proposed by TLC pales in comparison to even a average 155 pound match-ups like Aldo versus Sotiropolous or Aldo versus Guida.

I agree ( but I do think Warren is deversing of a shot at Aldo ). Aldo should move up, I failed to see who will challenge him in the near future unless the WEC makes some major signing soon.

Aldo is a 145lb fighter, period. Not only this, he's far from cleaned out the division. Hes beaten Faber, Brown and Gamburyan. Big whoop.

After he beats Omigawa, Mendes, Grispi, even guys like Hominick, then I'd think he should move up.

Of course, that's not even assuming top flight prospects like Renan Barao aren't challenging at that point.

So Aldo has to beat Omigawa? Did he sign with Strikeforce? If so I missed it. I would love that fight but I would also like Fedor-Lesnar.

And if you seriously think he needs to stay at 145 until he beats Hominick..... oh well..... That kind of says it all.

Omigawa as already said he wants to fight in the US and he's a free agent.
Strikeforce isn't relevent to this discussion.

He needs to beat whoever his challengers are in the division, whether it be Hominick, Mendes, Grispi, Barao or a free agent they bring in. He already won't fight Sandro, so the biggest matchup in the division isn't happening, but at least there are some other interesting matchups other than guys like Manny Gamburyan...

Yeah I meant WEC, not Strikeforce. Regardless, Aldo needs to be in big fights. He is way to talented and gaining too much popularity to stay at 145 and beat meaningless challengers.

The better fights and challenges for him are at 155. That's where he should go.

His next WEC challenger will likely be Josh Grispi. Does anyone care about that fight? Does it do anything for Aldo? No...

MMA fans care about that fight. I'm looking forward to it myself, not as good as a fight with Omigawa, but Grisoi may be Aldo's toughest opponent to date.

I would pick Faber, Brown, and Gamburyan to beat both Grispi and Omigawa. Personally, I don't give a shit who he fights, Aldo is a treat to watch. I just hope they keep him fighting 2 to 3 fights a year.
