    This apparently happened:

Montell Griffin: "I could have taken you"

EM Muhammad: "You couldn't have taken me to the bathroom"

Spinks would have owned just about every lightheavy in history. AND Eddie was ahead in that fight until the later rounds when Spinks took over. AND it was a weight drained Eddie in that fight.

Yeah its very ironic. I was even thinkin about it during the Pascal fight, that Chad just didnt let his hands go enough, just like his trainer. Thing is, Dawson absolutely NEEDS to let his hands go. Eddie was a big puncher, and only needed one good shot to end a fight(as you saw). Eddie at his best would have KO'd his pupil Chad, and would have slaughtered Pascal.

Now Eddie is training Judah, which is even MORE irony. Between Eddie, Judah, and Bowe, Brooklyn sure has produced alot of wasted talent.

Mike would have owned many of them, not just about every one of them, as he really lost to a guy named Eddie Davis.

Mustafa was perhaps the most physically gifted Light Heavyweight I ever saw, but his lackadaisical approach to training and dedication kept him from being an Immortal.

Still, he had moments of sheer brilliance in there, but you would find yourself screaming at the TV for him to throw that paralyzing right hand of his.

He was a very frustrating fighter to root for, and blew fights that he should have won vs. Victor Galindez and James Scott.

I had him winning the Galindez fight.

I never scored it, but I do know it was pretty close, but that knockdown and point deduction (which was BS) went a long way for Victor getting the nod from his WBA judges, but it looked to me like Eddie did enough to win the title, so I agree with you there, but he should have knocked Victor out as he was right there in front of Eddie.

Not to NITPICK, but the Actual Quote was "You Couldn't Take me to Go PEE!"....Mustafa then Went on to Basically Tell Griffin that he WOULDN'T have Been Shit in his (Mustafa's) Lightheavy Era....

When did this whole convo take place?

Eddie also briefly trained James Toney.

Fitting that two of the more notable fighters Eddie trained either didn't throw enough punches, or ate too much/had weight problems.

Eddie was actually in Iran Barkley's corner when JT beat the shit outta Barkley.

Toney & Eddie are actually similar fighers. Both brilliant counterpunchers/techncians when they were on thier game. JT had a better defense, but Eddie was a bigger puncher. I think a matchup between the two at 175 would have been interesting.

Poor Marvin Johnson. He always seemed to be at the wrong end of a lot of brutal fights.

Johnson was at least able to win a belt though... several times. And he had a shining moment when he destroyed a faded Galindez.

The most unlucky figher of that era was Yauqi Lopez. In this era where fighters as mediocre as Clinton Woods can win a belt at 175, Lopez would have definitely been champ.

Griffin was barely shit in his own era. That being said, if the same sloth-like version of Gregory shows up that was out-pointed by Scott, Griffin probably DOES take him.

He never learned to let his hands go, but he was a very formidable fighter in one of the two best eras in Lt Heavy history (the 1940s being the other)

Somewhere in the Eddie Futch/Thell Torrence Mix, Eddie Mustafa Trained Fighters Out of the Same Gym that Griffin Worked Out of....

Yeah and Oba Carr could concievably beat a listless Benitez.

But lets just assume for arguement Eddie would be at his best. He'd blast Griffin. It wasnt easy to outbox Eddie. The trick was outwork him, and even rough him up. He wouldnt have too much trouble with a 2nd rate cutie like Griffin.

There's NOfuckingDOUBT that Eddie Mustafa was the SUPERIOR Fighter...If he Brings his A-Game, Griffin is TOAST within 3-5 Rounds...

Only "cutie" so to speak who beats Eddie would be a prime Roy. Simply because Roy's insane speed and angles would have Eddie looking for one shot all night similar to how Toney did. Knowing Eddie's power though, I dont think Roy would take many chances. That woulda probably been a boring fight, won by Roy.

I won't go with Montell Griffin, but it doesn't take a prime Roy Jones to beat him.
