I do not mind Amateur boxing usually, its has brought out some of the best boxing talent we have today. But nearly all the fights are being judged so poorly, i was wondering if something dodgy was going on, or if they were just crap judges lol

I think it's judge some seriously crap judges, to be honest. The standard of the boxing I've seen so far hs been decent, as it happens, but some of the scoring has been absurd.

Some of the points that have not scored have been crazy, there was an English guy who looked wicked Anthony Agogo.

Go sit in their seat and score as they are supposed to score.

there's mikE. always defending the powers that be. i'm starting to think you're one of them. either you work for a sanctioning body, or a commission. something like that. it's the only explanation i can think of for your unconditional support for a bunch of organizations that are obviously corrupt, dishonest, greedy and criminal.

turns out, you're also a supporter of the amateur regime.

Have you even watched any of the boxing referred to in this thread?

    Thought not...

I watched a fight today, with a Greek-Cypriot guy called Michalis DiMichalis or something and another guy from a country I had not heard of before. They both basically landed a tonne of clean shots each and it ended 3-3 after 3 rounds of them both landing. The right guy won but it was SHITE officiating.

The Greek guys cornerman was sent away into the stands for being to Verbal, and the Indian crowd, small as it was, went fucking batshit everytime the non-Greek scored a point.

The fight was stopped every 2 seconds to adjust a cup, fix a head-piece etc.

    :boring:

I do not have unconditional support for them, but I do have far less contempt for them than most people in most areas. However, corrupt, dishonest, greedy or criminal they may be, I feel it is far less than attributed to them.

I don't support or despise the amateur regime, but I do acknowledge that it has different scoring criteria than the pro game and the differences can lead to frustration if not accounted for.

No, and it's a fair question. However, when 'all' judging is bad, that indicates to mE that other explanations may be at fault other than bad judges.

Judges are responsible for judging. Other people might fix the fights but we don't talk about that.:TLC:

The scoring has been very odd indeed. Clear scoring shots have, for reasons unknown, not been registered as scoring shots. As Irish alluded to, some of the fights have been terrific, all-action affairs yet have ended up scored as 3-3 after three whole rounds. This just makes no sense at all, regardless of the merits (or otherwise) of the 'white of the gloves connecting/three of five judges registering the point' scoring system...
