I'm doing circuits pretty much everyday.
    22hspu
    22crunches
    22pushups
    22leg raises
    11 chinups
    22 reverse trunk twists

    I do this 5 times a day.

On top of that, I climb rope 3 times a week and I'm chopping a lot of wood right now.

    Nice Buddy! :bears:

I keep taking my cardio up a notch, then i'll back off for a week or so and bump up my pushups etc..

this week is strictly pushups, chinups, etc..

It's coming into Summer around here, & living in a beachside suburb, I've been hard at work. All sprint-training, with a bit of distance-jogging & jump-rope thrown in for good measure.

It's a year-round thing for me, but especially hard at this time of year, for obvious reasons.

I'm back . I took a break for two weeks but started going everyday the last week and two days ago I had an epiphany while there. It came to me and hit me like a ton of bricks. I am a physical speciman I belong here this is my home!

I'm about 206 right now, but I want to be lighter. Even though I have a lot of muscle, I'd trade for more energy and stamina.

Still, today I was doing wicked circuits at lunchtime:

    With 45 seconds per station:

    -Bench Dips
    -Cross-legged crunches
    -Pushups
-Crab walking (I'm shitty at it)
    -One legged bends
    -Skipping rope
    -Reverse Trunk twists
-Power downs (slamming the medicine ball against the ground and then -catching it on the rebound)
    -Bicep Curls
    -Hindu Pushups
    -Bent Over Rows
    -V-situps
    -Exercise ball balancing
    -Squat and Side Kick
    -Side Shuttle Run
    -Resistance Band Side Kicks

30 or so reps for most exercises.

About 40-50 of us did 2 circuits and a few partner-assisted exercises at the gym. Then we cooled down with stretches. It's a good way to get out of the office and take your mind off things.

That's a lot of work. I must admit, I never got my head around this common theme to do a million different exercises, targeting this & that. I think my head would explode trying to remember your routine!

I've always stuck to my two essentials --- sprints & jump-rope, & both have served me very well. I'd be curious to finally give something like your routine a hardened go --- do you have trouble remembering your set-up, or does it just come naturally with enough repetition?

Actually it changes everytime. This is just what we did today. We do it as a group on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunchtime. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I try to go to the gym at lunchtime if I can although it's usually twice a week.

In addition to that, I'm chainsawing logs and chopping wood on a daily basis, and I climb rope 2-3 times a week, climbing a total of 100ft each time I climb.

And I try to get in a long distance run once a week.

    Yep, I'm insane. :giggle:

    Nothing insane about it, IMO.

A sharp mind breeds a hardened body.

It can, but it doesn't necessarily. Perhaps it is that a self-aware mind breeds a hardened body. I work with a lot of bright minds in research and analysis, but I'd say only 25% work out regularly.

  21. Ramonza Soliloquies

    Ramonza Soliloquies "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Well, what I meant to convey was that sharpening your mind specifically for training is what makes the body great.

Ah, I see. I'd agree with that. With today's society leaving people stretched for time (work, kids, wife, household chores and repairs), it seems like we have to get a bit more innovative in order to achieve the desired results.

When I was a teenager, I could train all the time and didn't have to worry about any of the things that occupy my time now.

Nowadays I'm limited in terms of time, so I improve whenever I can with the energy I have.

You haven't seen me in 2 years. I've toned up awesomely but you're still a closet homosexual with a serious case of self-denial.

I think I actually pulled one of the rectus abdominis muscles. It's on my left hand side, middle row. Feels like I tore something. It's been sore all weekend. If it doesn't feel good by tomorrow, I'll have to skip circuit training.
