Even though Lopez-Marquez is the biggest fight on the weekend, I'm still looking forward to the B.A.D card. This should tell us truly what Zab has left, as Matthyse if nothing else is young, undefeated, and powerful. On PAPER, Judah should be able to take him, but on PAPER.... Zab shoulda beaten damn near everyone he's faced. Plus despite looking good against Santa Cruz, I maintain that Zab's quickness and reflexes arent what they once were. Still I got Zab by UD, or TKO.... but Matthysse pulling an upset wont be surprising at all.

Then on the undercard you got Escobedo vs Guerrero, which is basically an even matchup.

So HBO for ONCE has put together a good card.

Another great fight! I've not seen enough of Mathysse to make an educated pick but we'll sure know more about him after this one. Judah figures to be better at 140 and that being the case he'd be a great addition tot he mix if he can get a win here.

Judah-Khan anyone? :crafty: Let Judah do something for his karma before he slinks out the sport.

Matthysse seems worlds better than his brother, but also seems to have the same blatant disregard for defense.

Tough to put any stock whatsoever into Zab, but a rare night in which I'll actually be rooting for him. I got Zab by KO.

I actually like both Esco and Guerrero, but for whatever reason couldn't care less about the fight. Guerrero by UD

I wanna root for Zab, cause Ive always been a fan... but part of me wants Matthysse to knock him out. Only because its ALWAYS good to have new blood on the scene. Especially a new, young puncher.

I like it when veterans get their chance against a supposed, "up and comer," and capitalize, and find themselves on the road to a title shot once again.

Judah can do that Saturday and I hope he does.

So you're just like those people Kathy Duva was talking about.

Honestly, I kinda feel the same way.

What the hell, I'll go with Escobedo in this one.

Dude. I applaud your discriminating approach to boxing spectatorship, but this fight simply doesn't qualify as one to ignore.

While it lasts, it will be a good fight, with both guys likely hurting each other, and the fight ending before the distance.

Say what you want about Judah, but when's he ever in a boring fight? He doesn't hold. He hits hard. He's fast. He's aggressive. He can lose his concentration, but that just adds to the drama!

I agree, that's a rather odd post by Kaliber.

What's wrong with this fight? Why would you not wanna watch it? It's a decent fight, could be fun.

I don't know enough about Lucas to make a solid prediction, but I am hesitant to pick Judah over any solid fighter on the world stage, especially this version of Judah.

Should be a decent fight though.

I think it's great match making, personally. Fascinating crossroads fight in an already deep division.

Judah needs to lose, he is going nowhere and has no star quality left. We got rid of Bumdmir a month ago and Judah following wouldn't bother me one bit. Oh and 140 isn't a fraction as deep as it was when Judah was undefeated.

Well in a way it is. Back then the division only had Tszyu, Judah, and Mitchell as the main cats. Well you still had Randall Bailey, and Hurtado as the guys outside the elite. Hatton was still on the rise, and not yet elite, and Gatti was always crap.

Having said that.... the 2000-2001 Tszyu would own anyone in the division currently, and I'd also argue that the 2000-2001 Zab would own anyone in the division currently.

I mean honestly, lets take Devon Alexander. WTF does Alexander have over a prime Zab? Not a goddamn thing! Judah woulda wasted Alexander easier then he did Devon's buddy Cory in thier rematch.
