Agreed. Not just polish his standup, but stamina. Nam is good, but the main reason Cody lost is he gassed. He is tough and rangey, but I think he is just fucking strong too. He looks lanky and wirey, but his physical strength is impressive. When he guillotined that little rat stevens, it looked more like pure strength than technique. Literally choked him out cold. I think we'll see more of Cody.
Brookins is going to win, you can tell he is just on a different level than the rest of the house. MWS, Cody is a really cool guy. He trains out of the gym I go to here in Spokane, WA. He hasn't put a show on at all. He has 100% been true to himself and his personality. I also know for a fact he is looking to train in Thailand to work on his stand up. With his length, all he needs is a very stiff 1-2 and leg kick. Training in Mauy Thai will make him a very solid fighter.
I have to go back to Brookins fight with Jose Aldo. Brookins wasn't on the same level as Aldo but he didn't fold and hung tough for longer than most could against a P4P great. He also tossed Aldo to the canvas with the same lateral throw he used to take down the Armenian dude last night. Brookins stayed in the pocket and didn't crumble under Aldo's punches and leg kicks. This was obviously a lesser refined version of Aldo, but this experience has to make Brookins the favorite. And you can say the only reason he was winning, is because he had to go all out and thats why he gased, if he didn't go balls to the wall nam was going to pick him apart, i thought in nams previous fight he wasnt letting his hands go enough, and i thought the same this fight, but maybe he doesnt want to get gassed like his oponents and doesnt mind taking his time.
I don't think he's garbage but I also think he is very limited and doesn't make the finals. He was actually losing the stand up to Cody until Cody gassed. Nam is short and that doesn't bode well against the remaining guys in the house like Brookins, Johnson and English.
Nam is very experienced and that has got him thus far on the show. He isn't garbage like Godfather is saying, but he is definitely not world class or even close to it. Plus, he doesn't look like he will ever get any better. Brookins looks like a "skies the limit" type of fighter.
Awesome jarhead. Good to know he is cool in reality too. I find him hilarious, he reminds me of my best friend, who is a dopey looking, weed smoking musician that LOVES to fight. And I have to love a raw, tough guy like Cody. I hope Cody works on his stand up and stamina. And Godfather, Nam is not even close to being garbage. He is not great, no, but he is a solid fighter, he knows what he is doing in there. Decent standup, wrestling, and is a BJJ black belt. I think he'll probably make the finals to be honest, I don't rate Johnson or Wilkinson that highly.

That's a ridiculous thing to say. Even Cody, right now Nam proved to be the better fighter. Conditioning and conservation of energy are pretty essential for a fighter, and got Nam the win. With Cody that's at least vaguely accurate because he won the first round and gassed. But that Spencer guy? What? Nam beat the shit out of him, it wasn't even a fight. Nam just outclassed that guy and gave him a beating.
Possibly. But obviously he shouldn't have gassed after a round, so if he improves his conditioning and manages to conserve his energy better, he'll be able to keep that pace up in every round.
its more than being gassed, dude stands straight up, someone more aggressive than nam would starch cody easy. nam just took his time, he could have been had in the first round.
He didn't look too injured at the start if the fight, he looked fine. Nam just gave him the beatdown innit.

He hurt his foot and broke his hand in the fight. That is why nam took over. I thought it was obvious when the motherfucker came back in a cast.
Nam didn't take his time, he basically got bullied around by Cody in the first round. He took his time in the 2nd though I agree, and picked his shots pretty well. Someone more aggressive than Nam might get choked out like Stevens did.
Nam pretty much dominated the fight from the get go. Spencer might have been injured, but he was being beaten anyway.
What the fuck? Spencer was lighting Nam up with kicks and punches. Then he broke his hand. Watch the fight again.
I remember the fight. Spencer basically did fuck all. Nam was winning even before Spencer got injured. Spencer threw a few punches and kicks but they didn't even land. If they have a rematch you'll see Nam clearly win again.
