Main card Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami Jorge Rivera vs. Alessio Sakara Dennis Siver vs. Andre Winner Amir Sadollah vs. Peter Sobotta Krzysztof Soszynski vs.Goran Reljic Any of those fights any good ?
Any time an MMA or boxing event is not PPV, you have to tune in just on GP alone. The card is wayyyyy lackluster but often the shitty cards on paper yield the best fights. Braski is right. Watch the Karaoke guy bust on Plaster Hands and Record the UFC.
It's a free card and the main event involved the number 2 or 3 MW in the UFC AND it's a great match up. I also like the Rivera-Sakara fight. Both guys are on a bit of a roll and it should be a fun brawl. I will DVR this since it's tape delay anyway and watch Manny-Margarito live.
I love the Sakara- Rivera fight. Sakara's probably my number 1 guy in the UFC right now, and I think he could make some noise at mw. Most fluid boxer in the UFC by quite a bit imo. Rivera got a tricky cuban boxing style himself, the way he anhilated Quarry was impressive. so it should make for firework
Okami-Marquardt is interesting but could very well be a bore. The rest is garbage, save for Sosnyswky vs Reljic wich should be exciting.
Agree 100% with your take on Rivera. But, don't discount the Siver-Winner fight. Siver loves to stand and has some cool kicks. Winner only knows stand up. This fight shouldn't go to the ground unless someone is knocked down. It will be a fun scrap between two middle of the pack fighter.
Is that the best you have to offer? At least you learned to stop posting your cute little 'I hate Fedor' rants. I guess there is hope for you yet.:scared:
I was thinking the same thing. If I remember around TLC's 48th post he was telling us Manhoef would destroy Lawlor. Brilliance in action.
Personally I am shocked TLC is still an MMA fan after Melendez destroyed Aoki. Remember, Aoki was a top 5 P4P guy according to TLC.
Seriously though. That guy just doesnt know when to quit. He is gang raped on this board on a daily basis.:hump:
Okami won if anyone gives a fuck. :: I actually thought hed win by actively trying to take Nate down but he did his best work in the stand-up. Lot of guys are saying Nate choked though... The rest of the card sucked but I was impressived by Siver rocking Winner and hitting an arm trap RNC in round 1.
I thought all the fights were entertaining. Even two preliminary card bouts were cool. Marquardt seemed tentative in the stand up and waited constantly. It's good Okami got the decision because Marquardt isn't ready for another fight with Silva. Meanwhile, Silva-Okami II sounds cool. Maybe he can get Silva DQ'd again.
Marquardt gave Okami wayyy too much respect on his feet. Sadly, the MW division is lacking 'barnburner' fights unless A Silva is involved. And even then, the Champ seems less interested in unleashing his dominant Muay Thai more and more with every title defense. With Wandy on the backend of his storied career all we have to look forward to are Bisping, Okami and Marquardt doing their thing. Belfort has been inactive for over a year with a shoulder injury and his momentum from the win-streak is likely over. The MW's need new blood in a bad way. On a side note, I am still waiting for TLC to explain to me why the MW division is so sweet and special. :scratcher:
Nate was probably worried about the TD, like he was in the Palhares fight, and trying to counter. Unfortunately he is habitually confounded by southpaws and got touched up for the last 5 minutes.
This guy has been fighting great fighters for years, and has been beat clearly twice. He was robbed by Shields, and he even was controlling Silva until Anderson cheated. HW? A 3-1 Pro Wrestler beat a 50 year old 220lbs man for the title. :: The MW division may not be 155 or 205 stacked, but at least they don't have tire changers in their top 10.
