Ok, so I think its kinda ridiculous the Pac groupies insisting Manny coulda beaten Hagler, or Hearns... but is this one ridiculous? If you think so, call me on it. But really... Ghost is so damn lead footed, slow handed, and one dimensional, that despite the insane size edge he'd have... is it really far from the realm that Manny could outbox him?

    He'd outslick him all night.

I'd rather see Pacquiao vs P-Will.

    Now THATS a fight.

    Honestly... thats a massacre.

Manny gets P-Will to come in a catchweight of 150, and he'll light his ass up.

Manny could close his eyes and hit Williams.

If could avoid Pavlik's right hand, yeah.

    I don't think so though.

It Wouldn't B the Most EXCITING Manny Pac Fight U've Ever Seen, but he COULD Use his Speed, Counterpunching & Mobility to Win a WIDE, SAFE Decision....Manny is THAT Versatile....

Pavlik is eroded from the fighter he was 3 years ago.

At this point, I'm not sure he'd lay a glove on Manny.

Pavlik would come in at 175lbs and is a big puncher.

    Manny gets KO'd.

Funny, coming from the same people who think that joke of a fighter named 90s Foreman beats every smaller HW in history.

I would pick Pavlik over Pacman, but even this fight is now up for a legitimate debate.

And I don't think Pacman vs any welterweight in the history can be called ridiculous anymore. He wouldn't probably beat them all but he would be a helluva opponent to them all, yes, even Hearns

Look, Pavlik is a middleweight. Margarito was a guy who was not an especially brilliant Welterweight, who failed on his one trip to 154 against Santos, who is Pac-Man Lite in terms of skills and speed.

If Kelly has anything left and pumps the jab continuously then I can see him establishing a degree of control.

Manny eventually has to plutz sometime....

Pavlik is coming off a loss and poor form, a typical Pac opponent trait.

You know what....if I am Pavlik, I would ask for the fight, with just one condition......Manny Pac must weigh in at 156.

Pavlik is no faster than Margarito, so Pacquiao might tag him enough to discourage him and win a decision. Oh and this is a doable fight since both are Arum fighters.

Let's not forget that when Margarito did manage to get Pacquiao against the ropes, he was making a difference, especially when he went to the body.

Pavlik is a bum, he wouldnt deserve a chance with Manny, and yes Pavlik would get battered worse than what Hopkins did to him

Pavlik might possibly be a step too far but the fact this is even a legitimate discussion is testament to the guys greatness

This may be the one straw that breaks the camel's back. Pavlik is too big for Pacquiao! One or two right hands to the body of Pacquio from Pavlik and Pac would not get up again.

Hagler, maybe ridiculous, but to rule Pac out of fights at 147 or around 147 against Hearns, Leonard, and Duran? That is crazy. No fight at or around 147 involving Pac should be considered a foregone conclusion. I think you're just being nostalgic when it comes to the Fab Four.

its possible he could run a lot and win a boring and safe decision... but I dont know, I think against a guy that big, hed have to get his respect at some point... might be a bridge too far, even if Pavlik isnt that terrific a fighter

So you're saying that Pac, at 147, would have no shot at Hearns, Leonard, or Duran? You do realize that all of them lost fights at 147 right? It's not like they were unbeatable or some kind of Gods. Pac is an all-time great and I think it's nuts to just write him off against these guys.

I'm not a Pac groupie by any means, but I think it's pretty obvious he'd have a good shot against anyone in history around this weight.

both leonard and hearns would severely fuck pacquiao up at welterweight. some of you chaps are going overboard here after the guy won a hard fought decision over a well past his prime welterweight who would also have been severely thrashed at his absolute peak by the aforementioned two

We arent' saying this after Pac beat up Margarito. We're saying this after Pac demolished DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, and Margarito in succession. On top of that he has knocked out MAB and Morales and had JMM on his knees more than... fill in the blank.

To say that anyone in history has an easy time with Pac at 147 is absurd and he most definitely could win against these guys.

What gets me is that many of you are saying he is P4P the GOAT yet at the same time you don't think he can beat guys from history in his weight class? This doesn't make sense.

    Pacquiao raped Plasterito.

Pacman's face was more marked up after fighting Clottey ffs.

It was only a hard fought decision in that plasterito was a relentless punch bag, begging for more punishment round after round, and thus giving Pacquiao an intense workout.

By the way I kind of agree with Sly.

Pavlik is like 6'3, a BIG middleweight with naturally heavy, thudding shots.

I think Pacquiao could absord the odd one to the chin, especially seeing as Pacquiao's defense has improved, and although he gets hit, he doesn't get hit FLUSH much these days.

But to the body? I can't imagine Manny's featherweight frame absorbing shots from someone like Pavlik.

Ironically I would still consider it almost a 50/50 match, because I can also see Manny just running rings around him, like Martinez did.

You guys are crazy, Pac has no business even fighting a guy as big as Margarito. He felt the strength and size of Margarito and I fucking guarantee he's not fighting anyone close to that big again. As easy as Manny made it look, he had to work his ass off to beat Margarito.
