Seriously, the ref in this fight and Marg's corner should be pistol whipped. Margarito was obviously not going to quit and he needed either the ref or his corner to intervene. He could've easily wound up with worse than a busted eye socket.

Seriously, I am surprised to see how many people here (outside the obvious ones) see boxing as some schoolyard game. There is a bad guy who bullies others and says bad things and that's why somebody must go and beat him up because he deserves it. WTF is that.

If it can be proven that Margarito has cheated in some fight, then he should get a legal punishment (a big one) and should be banned from the sport. If he has insulted someone too much, then legal actions should again take place. What they do in the ring is a fucking sport, not a place for a revenge

Considering what his magic wraps did to Cotto's face, this fight is very, very fitting. Plasterito had it coming.

 

Margarito got the kind of ass whipping he deserved. You put something in your gloves with the intent to really hurt another fighter you deserve this type of ass whooping. No doubt, this is way better than the "punishment" issued by the comission. I loved every second of that beat down.

Margarito's "punishment" for trying to load his gloves was a year away from the sport, then a fight with one of the biggest stars in the sport and a payday that 99% of fighters can only dream of. Because he was lucky enough to get caught BEFORE the fight, whereas if he had been caught AFTER it, he likely would never have fought again.

Given that Arum, the Texas Commission, and Pacquiao felt it was okay that this POS deserved this sort of "punishment", at least Margarito took a beating. I'm sure he has dished out several beatings with plaster in his wraps that caused grave damage to his opponents.

It's fitting and a bit of justice that Margarito took a terrible beating (though even I was hoping it'd be stopped in the last 3 rounds), but a more fitting punishment would've been for The Plastered Bastard to never have been a big fight like this in the first place. I'm no mind reader, but my guess is that most fighters would take an ass-kicking like this for a chance at more than $3 million.

 

This. Though the fucked up thing is, we can never be sure if Margarito actually has had loaded gloves in a fight.
