As a matchmaker, you need to have an eye for talent. Your comment above means you are both keen and astute. Aside from mistaking me for Hanzy, all of your posts are pretty damn good.....except I respectfully disagree on the whole Cody vs Kos. While Cody should have played it a bit cooler, Kos pushed every button he could find. He has always acted this way. If you ever get the chance, watch TUF season 1 and you will see what I mean. After that, it will be REED wanting to let Kos know exactly what time it is. artie:
I agree. Hopefully the UFC understands that fans like that far more than drunken antics and practical jokes. The majority of these guys are solid fighters and seem serious about improving. Something also tells me that the quality of the show this season is the byproduct of a guy like GSP being the ultimate professional. It seems like his personality has impacted the entire show.
This is a solid season without a doubt. Especially compared to the HW season, damn. It's a solid group this year, and they all seem pretty focused etc. And yeah, pretty fun to watch too. I'm surprised that Bruce Leroy has become quite tame though :kidcool:
'Preciate the Compliment & SORRY for Thinking U were Hanzy::....Brother BOB N' WEAVE Straightened REED Out on that Matter.... REED has Yet to Receive any MMA Matchmaking Opportunities, but he's Picking Up on the Sport as Quickly as he Can...Brother BOB's been REED's "MMA Seeing Eye Dog", if U Will, Helping REED Get his Feet Wet, Answering Dumb Questions that were Posed, etc... N Fact, YEARS Ago, when REED was Swearing by the Boxing Reality Show "The Contender", Brother BOB Encouraged REED to Give "T.U.F." a Try...It Took AWHILE, but 1nce REED Did, he Hasn't Looked Back Since.... REED:kidcool:
All 4 of the Quarterfinal Winners Did So CONVINCINGLY...There's No Doubt that the 4 BEST Guys R In the Semi-Finals....Brookings DESTROYED Psycho, Nam FOLDED Cody in Half & Watson & Johnson OUTMUSCLED their Foes... Nam vs. Johnson Should B a Stand Up WAR!!!...All Action Fight...Brookings vs. Watson is a Good CONTRAST in Styles...Watson Appears to B STRONGER & Might have the Edge in CLINCHES, but U Never Know w/Brookings... REED Likes Brookings & Nam to Advance to the Finals.... REEDopcorn:
I can't believe Bruce lost to that twat Johnson. I agree with you REED, I think the finals is going to be Brookins Vs Nam. I hope Nam gives Johnson the beat down. And Watson IS underrated. He's also the biggest fighter on the show, clearly. 6 foot and not exactly skinny either. Brookins is also 6 foot but more slender. Watson looks like a dork, but he can fight. But I think Brookins is better and should win.
He is a bit of a clown sure, but seems likeable enough to me. He doesn't seem like an outright prick. That Johnson guy, something about him just rubs me the wrong way. I just don't like him at all. I don't like his face, I don't like his voice, I don't like his uptightness etc. He's just a bellend.
I think he is focused. Bruce was there to fuck around. Michael is there for business. So yeah he might be uptight, but there is a reason for it.
You can be focused without being uptight. Both Nam and Brookins are clearly there for business too, but they don't seem remotely uptight. He just seems like a prick to me.
Well most people in the house didnt like Bruce, but like Michael, so that means something IMO. Editing can make anything look a certain way.
You know, it's funny but it is very easy to overlook Kyle Watson in this competition. He is a bit under the radar since he doesn't have the loud personality or bravado. It's easy to tell he's the oldest one in the house at 31 and has the maturity factor on his side. More importantly though, the guy clearly has the deepest background of any of the competitors. He is a highly decorated BJJ practicioner and has a ton of grappling tournament wins or high finishes. The fact that he's won all 3 of his TUF fights via RNC isn't an accident. He just has a huge edge in BJJ versus any of the other semi-finalist including black belt Nam Phan. I am looking forward to both fights and think the Brookins-Watson fight might be a war.
Yes he does Godfather. I think Nam stops him in the second or 3rd round. And Trpl, agreed. Honestly I wouldn't be shocked at all if Watson won the show. He's far less obvious than the others and looks like a dork, but he can clearly fight. Brookins should be the favourite, but I would make Watson a close second of winning the show.
Yep, I think that's exactly why Josh wanted that match up. If stamina is an issue, Nam is probably the last guy you want to fight. And I agree with your predicition. I think Nam takes that one. I still like Brookins overall, but this should be a fun 2 hours in a couple weeks.
I can't remember a TUF season yet where I said "so and so is an elite fighter" Even guys like Diego, Diaz, Evans or Bisping all seemed limited during the show. The one exception, in my opinion, might be Ryan Bader. He seemed heads and shoulders better than the others. If not for losing in the finale, I thought CB Dolloway was going to be another.
I agree GF. I think Brookins looks like a fighter who is bordering on Elite. The one thing I see in Brookins is he looks practically limitless when it comes to potential. He is already at the top or top two of this show. But take Nam for instance. Nam could win this, but I don't see the potential to get better with Nam. Brookins has future champion written all over his skill set.
Legit is not elite. Many former TUF fighters are legit. Hell, almost all the winners and runner ups are legit but none are what I would consider elite, yet.
Well, he lasted 3 rounds with Aldo......which is much more than other higher-ranked contenders have been able to do. Aldo is an ELITE world-beater who is easily top 5 p4p. He has altered the career paths of many talented fighters. It's a tough gig when your org debut is against a 145 lb smashing machine/cyborg/executioner. Of the final four, Brookins is the youngest and has the most upside in terms of potential. He will only get better.
An all of that After the aldo loss, which anyone with a brain knows that brookins learned a great deal from
Regardless, the only way he's a "future world champion" is if Jose Aldo gets bored and decides to become a professional soccer player.
