Mayweather dominating Mosley is more impressive than Pac beating Clottey and Margarito.

And see that's my other problem with saying Pac deserves three in a row...

I don't completely agree with your statement, but Floyd's lone win is individually far more impressive than either of Pac's - but not combined.

Had Pac fought Shane instead of Clottey and won in similar fashion, then I'd have no problem saying he's FOTY

I see your points Jake, but I guess I still haven't got over the fact that Manny started his career as a flyweight, and is about 5'5. I take that into account for every fight he has at these higher weights, and I think everyone should to be honest.

It's common sense. Who do you give more credit for beating Ruiz, Roy or say, Holyfield or Tua?

I know who I do, and that's Roy by far.

We now have to accept that Pacquiao is a legit welterweight in terms of how effective he is there, but we can't forget that he is a fucking small man.

I don't see him as a flyweight obviously, but he has the frame of a featherweight. He looked fucking tiny next to plasterito on saturday, and was at a SEVENTEEN pound weight disadvantage. It looked more than that in the ring, Manny almost did look like a featherweight next to plasterito.

I picked Martinez to win that fight by the way. I like Pavlik, but let's face it, he's nowhere near as good as most of us thought he was. And while I give Martinez credit for a very good win and excellent performance, I don't think it's as impressive as Manny's wins to be honest.

Sergio won clearly, but the fight was close ish against a guy closer to his size.

Pacquiao slapped Clottey and plasterito around in utterly 1 sided fashion, made it look like they didn't belong in the ring with him. Literally re arranged plasterito's face, fracturing his eye socket and wedging some eye muscle in there.

Is Williams a better fighter than un loaded Plasterito? Of course he is. But again, he's fighting a guy that's a similar natural size. Martinez has been a junior middle for half his career. You have to take that into account.

He's right. Mosley...even a 39 year old version...is a better fighter than either Margarito or clottey and Floyd beat him 11-1.

I say this ends in another controversial decision (aside from the 118-110 scorecard that is) I guess I lean toward Williams but I don't feel strongly about it.

I think Paul Williams wins a close but clear decision here. Both guys go down again, Williams comes on late and wins 115-111

But Pac DIDN'T Move Up from Flyweight in 2010, Brother MWS:lol:...Martinez was an UNDERDOG, the SMALLER Man & Basically Fighting on Pavlik's Hometurf in Atlantic City, when he EMBARRASSED him...THEN, Martinez ICES Williams (a LEGITIMATE Lb for Lb Candidate @ the Time) w/1 Punch...

In 2010, Sergio Martinez is a LEGIT Candidate for "Upset of the Year", "KO of the Year" AND "Fighter of the Year"...Manny Pac had a Good Year, but NOT on Par w/Sergio Martinez's...

Of course. Obviously I don't consider him a flyweight now. But my point is that simply, Manny is a small man. You know that REED, you've even seen him in person right?

Also he didn't just start his career at flyweight, over a 3rd of his whole career has been at flyweight.

Honestly though, I consider him a natural featherweight. If you look at his height/frame etc, he basically looks like a featherweight.

He really has no business at welterweight. Pacquiao fighting at welterweight is like Duran fighting at middleweight, at least. Or like Roy fighting at heavyweight.

As impressive as Martinez' wins are, I simply give Pacquiao more credit for his wins, because he's considerably smaller than his opposition.

Don't forget REED, most of us here thought Oscar Vs Manny was basically a mismatch, with Oscar simply being too big. I thought Manny was stupid to take the fight, and that it was just for the money.

Put it this way, who do you give more credit for beating Ruiz, Holyfield/Tua or Roy?

I know who I do, and it's Roy by a mile, simply because Roy is a natural 168 pounder. The size difference magnifies the win.

I don't have a problem with Martinez being fighter of the year at all. Two awesome wins, and KO of the year.

But personally it's Pacquiao for me, simply because a guy his size slapping around natural welterweights/junior middleweights in 1 sided fashion is unprecedented.

Yep, Pac's a LITTLE Guy for Sure...No More than an INCH or So Taller than Luis Yanez, the Little Guy in REED's Sig....Even when Surrounded by Other Small Asian Men, Pac is Amongst the SHORTEST of the Bunch...

Pac's Brother, Bobby, is Noticeably TALLER...Freddie Roach, who Is Also on the SMALLISH Side, is Noticeably BIGGER & TALLER than Pac Too..
