Dunno... I dont feel like searching the archives. But I remember some of the general forum idiots arguing it.

Probably that tard "Walk with Me". Whats he Paul's lil sister or something?

No need to besmirch the talent of Paul Williams. He just got caught by a punch he didnt see. Martinez wasnt even looking. That right there is pretty much the definition of a lucky punch.

Any fighter below 175 wouldve been knocked out by that punch.

Guys like Bute, and Ward would never have been retarded enough to walk into that punch in the first place.

Glenn Johnson woulda taken that shot, as would AA. Froch woulda been hurt by it, but I dont think out.

Paul Williams aint the brightest figher, or guy on earth. He's fought his WHOLE CAREER with his chin in the air, and it finally fucked him tonight.

Not Only that, but Williams was Trying to PUNCH WITH Martinez w/his Chin On a Platter, in the Air...

    Lucky punch?

That wasn't the first time he'd hit Williams with the same exact punch. He saw the opening for it again, loaded up on it, and maybe slightly turned his head because Williams was in the process of throwing a left of his own...his punch landed, Wililams' didn't.

    Nothing lucky about that.

In 14 rounds of watching them fight, I dont think I EVER saw Martinez MISS Williams with a left hand.

    Lucky punch my nuts!

Only thing LUCKY was the decision Paul got in the first fight.

Exactly, a lot of people have been saying for years that his defensive shortcomings would eventually get him knocked out.

    Nice KO though. :partie:

True, but if you pick against a fighter who continuously faces tough challenges twenty times in a row, chances are that eventually you get it correct. It was not a lucky KO but a big surprise it definitely was

What I just meant is that when you're very easy to hit, you'll most likely get knocked out in the future, no matter how good your chin is. It doesn't have anything to with continuously picking against a guy and claiming to have been right about the guy once he loses.

    Yep.

Perhaps the most idiotic example of a "lucky punch" I've ever heard.

Yeah, I'm trying to think which knockout was more surprising...Williams knocking out Quintana in the rematch or Martinez knocking him out.

Williams taking out Quintana was probably a little bit more, but both qualify.

Lots of posters was viewing and posting during the round by round last week. Last weeks event was less important than this weeks fight if your a hardcore fan.

Yeh Martinez is a top fighter. Didn't realise how much KO power he actually had.

I'd love to see Pac v Martinez!

I think it was Martinez over Williams. Hatton had already been knocked out before and the size between two was equal.

Yeh, i've been watching both KO's. Sergio's is definitely more devastating.
