Brook's too passive in controlling range. He's like James Toney, he wants to wander inside or to mid range, or let the other guy do likewise then start working on his schedule. Against Khan the opportunities would never arise, he'd be at long range and moving with his hands high the whole time. Look allot like Khan-Kotelnik, IMO, easy night, boring fight. Victory for the roboto people..
He's got decent power and is sharp and accurate, pretty fast too. However he looks kind of lost when forced to lead and seems troubled by movement. He hasn't really fought anyone yet, Michael frigging Jennings is the best name on his record and he looked like shit in that fight
I quite like Brook. He's sure as fuck better to watch than Amir Khan. But this is a bad style match for him.
'Looked like shit' but still won every round and stopped him in the same round as Cotto. Brook-Cotto would actually be an intriguing fight. And Cotto would crush Khan. Swings, roundabouts and monkey bars.
I really like what I have seen of Brook. Really like. His style is entertaining and he should have been on usa tv many times by now.
I didn't say he was a bad fighter, just that he needs to be tested more. He looked bad against Jennings and let's not pretend khan wouldn't annihilate Jennings himself. I don't think Cotto would crush khan, if they were the same weight. Agreed that brook vs Cotto is a good fight though, would like to see it.
Yeah, he isn't the future of the division or anything but he's gonna be a useful top 10-15 rank contender, IMO. I like him. He was messy against Jennings, but he got the job done pretty methodically. I really think he's gonna be found out by a guy like Khan (who's the best around at that ATM) who can use the ring and range though, because he's far too passive in that department. Brook-Berto (who would also eat Khan's asshole alive) would be GRRRREAT action fight. I think he loses to Cotto & Berto, but I think he'd be competitive. He won't be against Khan.
That's a bit misleading seeing as Jennings was stopped on a cut, and didn't look close to being out of his league as he was against Cotto. Cotto would smash Brook.
