Margarito had been savagely beaten twice now. I won't confidently pick him over anyone until I see him in there again.

If Mayweather had any fucking courage he would have fought Cotto, Margarito or Williams after his fight vs. Hatton....but those were not as easy a fights as his groupies want everybody to think...

:boohoo: If Cotto is soo fragile yet he survived/fought on vs. Corley when hurt, came back from almost being Ko'ed by Torres, survived a few scares from Judah to brutalize him in the later rounds, got in the ring w/ a veteran like Mosley and outslug him early and outbox him later in the fight, when 11 rounds with Plaster of Paris Margarito, fought 9 rounds with one eye vs. Clottey, went 11 rounds vs. Manny Pacquiao...

    YES FRAGILE indeed...

DLH was also the older, slower and inactive version of himself. Floyd got him at the best possible time. The DLH who lost to Mosley would have beaten Floyd. Whenever Oscar landed a jab he'd knock Floyd two feet back...so yes...oscar at one time had the style to beat Floyd...not at the time they met. Hell, Joe Louis had the "style" to beat Rocky Marciano....ten years before they fought.

    With that said...

I'd pick Margarito to beat Cotto in a close fight...simply because he will touch up Cotto. Cotto will get in his again but ultimately the first fight memories will creep in if Margarito's still coming forward throwing hard shots in the later rounds.

I'd say Cotto lasts the distance.

Number ONE: Anyone who witnessed the Corley-Cotto fight knows that Cotto only survived because Corley let him off the hook. Corley has the finishing ability of my old aunt. Inexplicably Corley didn't even throw caution to the wind and get him outta there

Number TWO: Michael Moorer was fragile, even though he managed to fight back Bert Cooper and eventually win by KO.

Yes Corley was a dumb ass and had shitty "finishing" skills. He hurt/stuns opponents to the head..then like a dumb ass follows it up w/ body shots...just like he did vs Mayweather..

#2 and win the heavyweight championship of the world..

    Cotto fragile?....:lol::rolleyes:

Cotto has the Maragrito, Clottey and Pacaquiao fights where he took tremendous punishment. Three out of his last four fights.

Plus over a year of inactivity if no interim fight...

Doesn't bode well for him either.

Top Rank CEO Bob Arum will present Miguel Cotto with two options when the Puerto Rican fighter attends next Saturday's fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Alfonso Gomez in Anaheim, California. Cotto will have the option of defending his WBA 154-pounds title against Chavez, should he win, in a big March clash.

The other option will be a New-York based doubleheader in the month of June, featuring Cotto and Chavez in separate fights. The card would be a build-up for a Cotto-Chavez showdown at the end of the year. The main event of the doubleheader would feature a rematch between Cotto and Antonio Margarito. The co-feature would have Chavez Jr. facing former 154-pound champion Yuri Foreman.

Cotto fought Yuri Foreman in June.

At least with Cotto, it looks like we know what we're getting. I'm not comfortable rating Margarito until I see him again. That's just me.

Margarito took a savage beating. I watched the fight a few times and I cant see him being the same fighter ever again. 1 thing is for sure, Margarito has a hell of a chin but can be hurt to the body. If Cotto fights him he has to land the body punches.

I've seen the fight twice, and I agree, Plasterito took an insane beating.

His chin/toughness truly worked against him. Pacquiao landed a shocking amount of clean headshots. Plasterito's face after the fight tells the story really.

I can't see him being the same either, he took the most sustained amount of punishment in the ring I've seen in ages.

Agreed. Surprised he's not in a coma or worse. I was hoping that they'd stop the fight as early as the sixth round.

Agreed! He took clean flush punches for 12 rounds against Pac. Margarito better be very careful, his health could be at serious risk after taking so many punches in his career.
