Given that Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather STILL WON'T Happen & That Andre Berto Seems to Prefer Sugar Shane &/or Miguel Cotto PRIOR to Pac, REED Thinks Pac-Marquez III Needs to Happen...

w/Out Question, Marquez is Pac's ARCH RIVAL w/a Legit Argument @ Saying he's BEATEN Manny @ Least 1nce...For Certain, Marquez has Pocketed the VAST MAJORITY of the 24 Rounds he's Shared w/Pac...As OLD as he is, Marquez Showed that he's STILL Got Another Good Fight or 2 Left in the Tank, so Why Not Mix it Up w/the Guy that Made him Famous in the First Place???...

    Pac-Marquez III, Anyone???...

    Sounds good. If it ain't PAC-Floyd I'd prefer Pac-Marquez 3 over Pac-Mosley/Berto; at 140 seems right.

Have the promoters themselves mentioned Pacquiao-Martinez? there's been talk on here, but doesn't seem to be serious negotiations between the camps as far as I know.

I dont think it will happen fue to the Mayweather shutout. Which speaks volumes on how much better Mayweather is than Pac.

I smh at people saying Pacquiao will run through Marquez. This reminds me of Ali vs Frazier III everybody thought Ali would go through Frazier with no problem because he wasn't the same fighter(He wasn't) but Frazier still had the style to beat Ali.I can see the same thing happening for this fight I think Marquez will surprise some people how well he does in a 3rd fight with Pacquiao

    If Floyd-Pac can't be made Pac-Marquez @ 140 is acceptable.

No thanks. Marquez has been in steady decline for some time now and, whether people like it or not, he got hit and dropped last night against a guy who fights mostly off raw courage and determination.

If Marquez takes a fight with Pac and, as I feel he will do, loses......then the old revisionist nonsense comes into effect and before too long people will have him mos-def losing the first two fights also.

Simply put, Marquez has regressed, Pac is on-song......and Marquez can't handle his own self quite as well over 135.

It's not that I don't want the fight to happen per se, I'll watch just about anything, it's just I don't want Marquez to end up like a Tommy Hearns, with a lot of L's in big fights and the perception that he could never really land the big one.

Marquez should hire Pac's "nutritionist" and get bigger and stronger. Then we have a fight.

I don't want to see Marquez getting beat up by Pacquiao. He's simply past his best and past his ideal weight class. Pacquiao will finish him in about 4 rounds. Marquez should retire already, he had no business getting beat up by Katsidis of all people.

It's odd.....Marquez started off at 126 where he lost fights to Chris John and Frederick Norwood.

Now he kicks ass at 135.

Are we to be expected that he does this all via his own urine, quails eggs, injections in the ass from his mom and throwing rocks?

You see what happens when you go down this route of casting aspersions. It's like Stalins Russia...everyone becomes a suspect.

I think this is the case. I don't know about the rest, it's all opinions anyways, but the highlighted bit is truth. He's not a 140lb dude, he had problems last night with a fighter in Katsidis who is so universally regarded as average that he was considered beatable by Kevin Mitchells people.

I think, from the p.o.v of posterity and reputation, that Marquez would be as well off getting a few more wins and retiring. He can then always say that Pac never really beat him, all the usual shit fighters go on with, and it will serve him well.

He is 37. He is going to wake up some morning and realize, a la Zaragoza, that he didn't have it today and won't have it tomorrow. And I would hate, HATE for that realization to come at 140 vs a rampant Pac.

At 140 pounds, I would love to see a third fight. Marquez isn't the same fighter he was, but he is still the best offensive fighter in the game not named Manny Pacquiao.

And I don't think the Mayweather whitewash of JMM should diminish the significance of this match up. As is typically said, styles make fights. Pacquiao is an offense fighter and not a defensive whiz like Mayweather. Regardless of the age or how much JMM has slipped, this would still be a war.

And JMM is a tough dude. He isn't going to get discouraged and go into a shell if he is getting beaten to the punch by Manny. Marquez will make it an explosive offensive battle. Why wouldn't boxing fans want to see that?

Pacquiao's destruction of Hatton and Oscar speaks volumes on how much better Pac is than Mayweather.

I wouldn't pay to see it at 147, or a catchweight 2-3 pounds lower than that.

Would much rather see Pacquiao-Berto...same as was the case before Saturday night.

    Not really.

Unless the way Floyd won every round against Marquez says the converse.

I'm on the bandwagon. I think Marquez (Floyd's son) is tough fight for Pacquiao at any weight.

Unbelievably bad logic...especially from a veteran poster.

I'm sure someone said this in 1974:

"Foreman's destruction of Frazier and Norton speaks volumes on how much better Foreman is than Ali"
