Shane stops him late. Castillo is basically made for Shane. It'd look like a lightweight version of Mosley-Marg.
I agree. Castillo is pretty legit at lightweight and it's tempting to think it would be a close fight with Shane winning. But actually, Castillo is the perfect type of fighter to make Mosley look good. Shane's style and handspeed has a field day on fighters like Castillo, it's not just the speed and accuracy though, it's his commitment to offense which would stop Castillo.
Mosley for sure, but i don't think it resembles the Margarito fight. Castillo was no defensive master but kept his chin tucked much better and was also superior inside.
man Mosley's competition at 135 was crap. didn't he struggle quite a bit with Ceballos? Castillo's definitely more proven as a light-weight.
if by struggled you mean mildly buzzed in the first round before going on to win virtually every remaining second of the fight, then yes, he struggled
It's true the division Mosley went through was lacking pretty starkly, but you either get a sense of a great fighter or not, & I felt Mosley was a truly excellent Lightweight, who could've bested much better opposition, given the opportunity. The first fight with De La Hoya somewhat serves as vindication for this.

I disagree. I'm not saying Mosley wasn't a very capable fighter at light-weight, but by definition, I think to be a great light-weight he would've had to face better competition than he did.

Castillo had better comp at lighweight, but it really wouldnt matter. Stylewise and quality wise, Shane is just another league of fighter. And unlike against Floyd, Castillo would come into the ring with NO size edge over Shane. Mosley kicks Castillo's ass badly.

Mosley is the quintessential 'Mexican killer' stylistically. He'd make Castillo (an excellent champ, IMO) look ordinary. Mosley 10-2 with a couple of moments where the ref has to take a very close look at the action.
That's fair enough, too. The competition wasn't there. At some point, you are willing to make (to some degree) a leap of faith with a fighter under these circumstances, or you are not.
