This is what I was talking about in the other thread. Everyone of these fighters this season sucks balls.
Brookins won, but man, he was pretty unimpressive. His defense is AWFUL. Johnson is fairly quick for a 150 pounder, but his punches are fairly telegraphed and sloppy. Brookins had his chin in the air and it was almost impossible to miss. He's a good wrestler, but he really needs to improve his standup and defense to become a top fighter.
After seeig this fight, it seems i was wrong about who would win, but absolutely correct about Brookins' standup. Its terrible. That is why i can stop short of saying Johnson has good standup. Because it just takes someone with Average standup to tag brookins. What i did underestimate what Brookins' chin. That is what kept him from getting KOed. He has a great chin. LOL at argument police. Nah, i just study the sport and understand where some fighters are weaker than others. If someone of you werent so blindly in love, you would have noticed Brookins bad standup too.
I thought Nam lost the first and third round. He didnt do enough. Garcia was agressive in those rounds. Unfortunately, his balance is terrible and when touched, he is falling over. But Nam only dominated the 2nd round IMO. The commentators were absolutely pathetic with Nam. They werent acnknowledging anything being done to him and completely ignored his cut. I can tell they are going to keep nam until he forces them to cut him. Nam aint no good. The fact that Garcia is so sloppy is what helped nam not get KOed. If he faces a decent striker, its lights out for nam.
Brookins has a very important tool in his bag, a nice chin.:: Godfather was so right about his standup. Johnson landed some big shots in that first round. Brookins can take a punch and has the heart of a warrior. Johnson is a very good wrestler and Brookins pretty much manhandled him on the ground. Brookins and Cody will be working some kickboxing my best guess would tell me.
Meia is boring as fuck, has dick for standup and everyone knows is a one trick pony. Same with Leitas and same with Aoki. They will have to get better at other facets of MMA or get passed by. Of course they can always win grappling tourneys.::

Sure, Joe Rogan said he won all 3 rounds, but what about the crowd? They booed constantly even when Garcia was talking. They booed that decision at least as much as any decision I've ever seen. Sherdog also gave Nam all 3 rounds, as did anyone else with 2 eyes and a brain. You gave Garcia the FIRST round? WTF? :: Nam won it easily. The 3rd round was the closest of the bunch but Nam still won it clearly. Nam didn't do much, and Leonard was more aggressive, but Nam still connected with far more clean punches. Even Garcia himself said "I thought Nam won the standup, but I scored some takedowns". How many takedowns did he score? 1? :: The fight was 99% standing.
Aoki beat Shaolin Ribeiro by out kickboxing him. And no, his ground game is very versatile. He's proven he can create submissions from nothing, hence Tobikan Judan and also, in his last fight he fought a very American style, low risk control strategy instead of going for submissions all the time He's the best grappler in the world in MMA.
Sherdogers are a bunch of idiots. The crowd was a TUF fan crowd. Garcia was the aggressor. In the first and the second round. Garcia landed more leg kicks and was constantly punching. Nam had small bursts of action in 1 and 3, but other that, garcia kept punching and kicking before Nam could even get off. I dont hate nam. I am just not in love with him. all he has is standup IMO and its not that good. They gave him the easiest opponent in Ricardo Mayorga's retarded Brother and he couldnt look decent against.
You must be clinically insane. Either that or Nam cockchoked your girlfriend with his 4 inches of Vietnamese fury. He barely landed 5 clean punches. Nam landed many, many more punches. Leonard came forward throwing dead weight retard punches, most of them missing by a foot or two, and the others landing on Nam's gloves. Look at their faces after the fight, the fight wasn't even close, Nam won every round clearly.

Come on GF. The dude is a very sound puncher technically. He's got good defense standing and has good take down defense. He also seems to be good at getting back to his feet when he does get taken down. I am with you in the sense that I didn't think the decision was robbery. At points Nam was very passive while Garcia was at least winging punches. Calling Nam a garbage fighter is extreme.
Shaolin Ribeiro is a one trick pony as well. I wouldn't brag that he beat Shaolin by kickboxing, Shaolin's stand up is some of the worst in MMA. This is my serious opinion, Aoki is a sub guy. He has shit for takedowns. He is the queen of the butt scoot. He didn't fight an American style against Melendez. He fought a very pussy style and refused to engage. Melendez did his homework and neutralized his pussy ass buttscoot. Aoki needs the fight to go to the ground to beat anyone world class in MMA. The problem, he can't take a 6th grade wrestler down. Melendez showed the world the blueprint to beat Aoki. Until he learns a double leg he will never beat a top ten fighter again. He is a great grappler, but his grappling doesn't translate to MMA. Shield's grappling does. Huge difference.
You obviously aren't worth talking to about Aoki, you probably don't watch Japanese MMA. You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

All he has is good Takedown defense. He doesnt have a good ground game. I also dont think his defense is good. Again, Garcia is the worst. I have never seen someone so sloppy and he was tagging Nam. Nam is like a poor man's machida.
