How can any judge justify a payment of that much unless the guy has like 100 kids?

20k a month is how much more than the national average wage in America? 10 times that much?

It's insanity really. They should get the bare minimum just to pay the bills and feed the kids, 20k a month .

 

A bare minimum to keep the kids in a good standard of living and perhaps a % of a guys earnings beyond that going into a trust fund for the kid's future. Fine.

He's a lawyer, whose wife of ten years left him, took their two kids just because she wanted to start dating someone else. After the courts were finished with him...all he could afford to live in was a rented bedroom in someone's home. A LAWYER!

Isn´t the monthly payment always based on the current income of the husband and the number of kids. That´s why guys like Kemp, Holyfield and now Mosley always pay this kind of money, although they have no chance of maintaining that kind of income when their careers are over.
But 20k actually seems reasonable, don´t they have a dozen kids? Or is that just for her?

Playing Money Grabbing Whore's advocate, i think the claimed justification is that wives play a part in the husbands success and defer their own success as a result and that's why they're due recompense. Which of course in this case is nonsense since Jin managed her husbands career and gained useful employment experience she never otherwise would have had that would have served her very well if she ever had reason to work again.
