Too bad they can't supply any information as to who's fighting. At least none that I could find. That doesn't bode well.

This is boxing, you get the network before you get the boxers or make the fights.

Yeah, I posted the Dan Rafael article on it at the time the news came out that he was leaving...it said he was going to end his managerial status, but stay on as a Klitschko advisor.

its illegal to promote and manage at the same time...btw one of his fighters is a good friend Sting Bwalaya who will be the next welterweight champ. He just finished spanking Maidana in sparring - he said it was eeeasy work.

I wonder what will happen to the ufc when they put the promotion/managing restriction on them?

Bwalaya probably would have weighed 7 lbs more than Maidana when they sparred since they are both in fighting shape with fights coming up. I'd be surprised if he got the better of Maidana, though. He has been in with absolutely no one so far.

He's already dumped all of those contracts.
It is against the Ali act to both manage and promote a fighter.

Sting is a special fighter though...I've seen him drop Zab, and handle Floyd in sparring too. In fact the reps from Empire came to the gym to talk to Floyd about signing him. Floyd said yeah I'll give you guys 30 mins and proceeded to keep sparring with Sting in prep for the Mosely fight. After they saw Sting do his thing with Floyd, Hasim Rahman who I was with turned to them and said "see what I mean" (about Sting) and they signed him that weekend. Hasim fights for Empire too.

Watching 5-0 (5) Bwalya fight perennial loser Anthony Bowman right now on a Missippi Fight Night card telecast on SportsSouth. Bowman wilts in the 2nd without taking any punishment. Wasn't very impressed with Bwalya. Nothing about him jumped out at me in this fight and he ate a couple of long rights that had no business landing.

Finkel explaining his plans for the show to Steve Kim.

Said that the aim is to build up prospects, ones at stage where they're usually buried on non-televised undercards, with the goal being that a year or two down the line, after 4-6 appearances, the boxers will be ready for "prime time" so to speak.

Mentioned Adrien Broner specifically, as an example: http://www.goldenboypromotions.com/fighters/adrien-broner/

Says he's talked to Richard Schaefer, and Kery Davis, about some prospects, and suggests working with other promoters, that he's open to co-promoting, and that there will be open dates for other promoters.

The shows will start off at just an hour long, but will eventually go to two hours.

They're still looking for some sponsorships.
