In his fights Tyson always used the bob and view style, so he was ducking and going side to side to avoid getting hit. Do you think he was afraid of getting punched?
Tyson studied boxing history and knew it was normal to feel fear. I believe he said something like. Everybody feels fear when you get into the ring, it is what you do with that makes a difference. He also knew he was human and realizied if he didn't use the defence he did, he might get caught like any other fighter in history. But I wouldn't label him as a fearful fighter.
Mitch Green always claimed that Tyson fought like a sissy. If he had had the guts to face Green standing up, he might have been knocked out
Peek a boo is a very effective style when used correctly and with the right physical gifts. Fear had nothing to do with the style Tyson applied.
So are you trying to say that if a fighter effectively protects himself while knocking out all his opponents, he isn't necessarily scared but uses correct tactics?
You know who knows fear? Fighters You know who doesn't? Fanboys. Was Tyson scared? Yes. Did he fight scared? No.
Fighting scared or not...Mike Tyson would have seriously fucked up both Klitschko Brothers...especially the younger Klit...
Yes. Tysons stature meant he gave up reach and height effectively every fight. Head movement and sidestepping gets him inside and nullifies that. LL had a weak chin so adopted an outside style with heavy emphasis on the jab. All done to cover weaknesses in the fighter. So what was the agenda behind this thread?
