Seriously mate, you are talking absolute bagfuls of shite here. There is no way Maidana won that fight. None at all. If he was a good as you reckon he is, he would have cleaned Khan out in that tenth, but he's so fucking dense that he couldn't find the one, single, conclusive punch he needed.

Huh? There was one KD in the whole fight and it wasn't scored by the 'monster' puncher, was it?

    It's Kevin Mitchell!!!!!

So what are you saying? That Maidana doesn't hit hard but had Khan in difficulty for most of the 2nd half of the fight? :dunno:

Maidana clearly won rounds seven and ten. Clearly. The tenth might well have been a 10-8. Khan clearly won rounds eight and nine. Clearly. Round eleven was tough to score, but Khan did enough in that one for me, landing by far the cleaner, more accurate shots in the middle part of that round. The twelfth was also tough to score because not a lot actually happened, but I'd have given it to Maidana. You are spouting some absolute rubbish about it being a 10-8 round. Other than your dislike of Khan's ethnicity, I know not why you are doing so. That last round was NOT a clear round in any possible sense.

That was the second half of the fight. You are portraying it as an absolute shutout for one guy. It wasn't. And all of this negates the fact that Khan virtually swept the first half of the fight, with a KD, so that the only round you could give Maidana was the thrid.

I honestly have no idea what fight you watched...

Yes, I am a massive fan of Chinese-faced fellas from Argentina. The true Aryans, and don't you just know it....:Thumbs:

My basis for a 10-8 round in that fight was the precedence of similar rounds being scored thus, and I quoted, and embedded a particular instance to that effect.

Your response is that I don't like Pakistani's in whose rectum the Guardian Newspaper resides. You are correct. I don't.

But there is a bit more to it that that. Oh just a bit more to it.

You don't like Pakistanis, full stop. And you don't like the Guardian newspaper. Full stop. Neither of these change the fact that you are trying to claim that Maidana won all of the latter part of the fight. He didn't. The very best you could award him from rounds 7-12 is 4-2 because there is no way he won either rounds eight or nine. None at all.

You're trying too hard man.

That was a close as hell fight and Kahn was lucky to survive. I just rewatched actually. Maidana put a lot of hurt on the kid, expect Amir to fight non punchers in his next 4 fights at least.

Truth be told we are both trying too hard {me and MTF} but.....there is such a load of bollox surrounding Khan, he is a moderately talented, heavily protected commodity, a Pakistani version of Duane Bobick, and not enough of people are prepared to call it as it is.

I expect a fight with an utter, utter non-puncher to follow.

    McClellan vs Benn indeed.

  11. meetthefeebles

    meetthefeebles Drunken Geordie Bastard

I'm not trying too hard at all...:dunno:

The fact of the matter is that it was a very good, competitive but clear fight. Most of the rounds can be easily scored. Khan clearly won rounds 1 (10-8 round),2,4,5,8 and 9. Maidana clearly won rounds 3,6,7 and 10 (possible 10-8 here).

The last two were less clear. I scored 11 for Khan based on the effectiveness of his work in the middle of the round. The last was probably Maidana's. Even if you gave him both the last two, though, he loses by a point on the KD even before you add the point deduction.

People are being fooled by the strong finish by Maidana and the fact that he had Khan in big trouble near the end. But it wasn't a particularly hard fight to score at all IMHO.

What about the point off??? :nono: :crafty:

    Cortez was at it again.

He did the same with Hatton, taking a point with no warning for a blow that didn't land when Mayweather turned his back and ducked out of the ring.

Then he ran over to Hattons corner to interfere when they were trying to tend to Hatton.

Same with Maidana, warning him and deducting points....warning him for putting his hands on his hips....

    .....Amir Gamache.

People wanted to see Khan fight Maidana. People wanted to see how his "chin" would hold up. He passed the tests. He took alot of punishment and stayed on his feet. He gave it back when in trouble. Credit to Khan

Cortez is a corrupt POS in my opinion, but I'm not sure about that point off. Maidana swung a roundhouse elbow and would have probably got away with it if he didn't actually hit Cortez with it instead of Khan...

As for the clinching and holding, it wasn't pretty, but as a fan of Ricky Hatton, I don't think I'm in a place where I can start whinging about 'excessive holding'.

Hatton held when he was older.

Khan is on the Roach Potion and is holding like a guy with 5 Aces.

Khan is hard on the eye but I thought he clearly won last night. It was close but that early body shot is probably what got him the win. Maidana needed a round to recover. Maidana also needs to learn to pick his spots, he probably failed knocking out Khan because he was tired from missing so many shots.

Even though I believe Khan clearly won, I think there's more room for improvement for Maidana than Khan. If Maidana prepares appropriately for a return bout, I think he takes it before the 12th.

Props to Khan though, I didn't he would be able to survive the type of scare he survived. In fact I didn't think he would have to against the crude Maidana, so props to Maidana too for being more skilled than he seems to be.

I agree. It does look sloppy/looping, but it's pretty quick and it lands.

    Absolutely.

I cannot BELIEVE some people think this guy is a puncher.

He couldn't put a dent in old featherweight Barrera FFS. I'll be amazed if he stops any top 140 pounder, his power is average at best at world level.

  19. Jimmy

Jimmy The Greatest of Are Times

If only Khan had caught Maidana with that left to the body earlier in the 1st round. It would have ended the fight :kidcool:

  20. Irish

That body shot was the business though, partially low as it was it was down in a sweet spot, maybe it was just a one off, maybe Maidana isn't as hard in the middle as he is in the head, he didn't seem discomfited again after that, it has to be said.

Now Feebles wants us to believe that Khan nearly stopped him with an uppercut in the 11th.....:Hanzkiller:

  21. meetthefeebles

    meetthefeebles Drunken Geordie Bastard

 Stop being a faceous prick...

That body shot WAS a thing of beauty, though. It wasn't just a single shot, either; he set up the opening with a lovely shot to the opposite rib first. Combination body punching is something I especially enjoy watching...

    :bears:

As regards Khan's power. I actually think he hits quite hard early doors. He has caught cold quite a few with his speed and the crispness of his shots. There is no doubt, though, that his later work tends to be a lot less powerful; his shots loss a lot of steam as the fight progresses.

You don't usually see guys get up from tue kind of body shot Khan landed in the first.

It was an incredible act of toughness. I can't remember seeing anyone getting up from a body shot that debilitating. Tough little fucker.

What kind of bodyshot did Khan land? The sort that people usually don't get up from? Or the sort that people usually do get up from?

Who are we crediting more here? Khan for having a wicked dig to the belt, or Maidana for getting up from it?

    Or both?

Who are we discrediting here? Khan for having a so-so left to the guts, or Maidana for being so easily hurt to the body?

    Or both?

    :dunno:

You may compare and contrast the two articles.

John Rawling, a cunt of note, wrote the first. Kevin Mitchell, an erstwhile vagina of exception, wrote the second.

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and say I don't understand what this is in reference to. If it's comparing Wlad's 'will power' in getting up from those flops to Maidana's in getting up from a body shot that debilitating.....:eek:hno:
