The younger Cotto vs. last night's Khan at 140. Who wins?

    I'd favour Cotto.

In fairness - Cotto has much slower feet than Maidana and that was as important in giving Khan problems as his power. The chances are Cotto catches up with him eventually but Khan has an easier time of the first 5 rounds or so and makes Cotto look plodding.

By that same token, Cotto is a far more economical fighter with better punch-husbandry.

Certainly but I think foot speed is gonna be a far more key attribute for anyone against Khan. At least in the early rounds. Toney had better punch economy & husbandry than Montel Griffin but only one of them troubled RJ.

Hut Hut I think your being fooled by Khan's speed and are ignoring one simple fact.... he's EASY to hit! He's a fast fighter with a shit defense... just like Judah. In fact... a prime Judah had much better reflexes than Khan.

Khan is EASY work for a young Cotto.

Hut hut, you're right Cotto doesn't have fast feet, and is somewhat patient and ponderous, but he has decent footwork. Not fast, but precise and economical.

Not only that but he is a much better boxer than Khan, more accurate, more intelligent. He would outscore Khan despite Khan's faster hands, and KO hmi in the mid rounds.

Cotto TKO 8. Like X said, its the Pinto fight all over again.

Khan is quick and his jab would give Cotto a few problems but sooner rather than later Cotto would catch up to him.
