    While agree with you that heavyweight boxing is an absolute graveyard, a fucking rematch with Kevin Johnson would have been more acceptable (and humane) than a go with Briggs.

    No- its not a graveyard- the fights were there, don't confuse a graveyard with fights versus people like Povetkin, Haye and Valuev if they really wanted them. Any division which has two tiers of talent cannot be that bad.

    There is one problem with a Johnson rematch: the son of a bitch never earned it. He lay on the ropes, did his utmost to make Vitali look bad and hoped the guy would get hurt or run out of gas. That and posing and talking smack. Nah he can be kept on ice for Haye or Povetkin to run into later on.

    I used Kevin Johnson as an example because he absolutely doesn't deserve a rematch. Yet, he was far more deservering than Shannon Briggs.

    It's okay, if someone wants to act like Briggs wasn't inactive for two and a half years following the Ibragimov fight, and didn't fight three corpses before Klitschko, let them.

    But you should know that responding to them directly only encourages them.

    Ok, so I will ask you, seeing as Beaver Pelts wants to be all Athabasca over it...who should Vitali have fought?

    Would have been an awkward affair, akin to the Gomez fight, with the same ending.

    In the meantime: {and some of this shit is hilarious so void your buccal cavity of tea, coffee, or semi-solid foods lest you need a new keyboard for Xmas}

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/9293972.stmDavid Haye offers Wladimir Klitschko 50-50 split {:laugh11:}

    I said all along this fight would never happen and this doesn't give me any reason to think otherwise. Booth and Haye are more concerned with how they look and sound in the papers more than anything else. They would sooner not have the fight, and make it look like the other lot ran away, than have the fight, make their millions, and run the risk of getting beaten.
