I was just alluding to the chaps career, which I considered a trifle polite, considering his current distress, and possible death. To answer your question, the last time Julius Francis was mentioned in boxing discussion was probably when Tyson fought him, some years before going on to fight Lennox Lewis.
That's stunning. The guy had power, relentlessness, a good chin, and a good punchrate. He wasn't a future world champ, but he was a decent fringe contender. Wow, he sounds screwed and that's really sad.

Well there was a guy called Jerry Ballard who was stabbed to death in an alley in 1999, he got a small write up in Ring Magazine, where he was mentioned as a former NABF Champion and one-time John Ruiz victim.

ointlaugh:ointlaugh: Poor bastard all the same. They are talking about a transplant but there is no way they will give him one unless they are sure he wont go back to the drinking. There is of course no hard proof he has caused it through alcohol alone, it's rapid advancement may be down to his having a pre-disposition. He may also have a painkiller issue like a lot of former athletes do, paracetamol and it's cousins are known liver destroyers.
