I would much rather see that fight than Mosley, though I wouldn't have liked seeing Berto and Dibella get rewarded for they way they've brought him along.

I would like Pac's next fight to be Berto, but his team keeps trying to put him in with JUNIOR welterweights.

He shouldn't have been allowed back on HBO without rematching Collazo.

Well, for all those who claimed PBF would finally overcome his bitchhood in 2011, it's time to admit you were wrong, and that PBF's career and legacy it turns out, will be nothing except reports of how he avoided at all cost Pacquiao.

There's no fucking way that Pacquiao, a full time boxer, a professional who makes millions and millions of dollars fighting guys with minimal appeal or fandom,on a regular basis and with discipline, focus and commitment should subject himself not only to a fight but an event, a thankless one, involving the anti-social likes of Mayweather Junior, a perfect example of what happens to children of narcissitic and morally bankrupt parents such as that piece of shit that by now everyone wished SRL had managed to land a fatal blow against, but is thankful nontheless that he managed to knock him out and humiliate him.

But in no way is it a, "run-on" sentence. You know why? Because I don't think in run-on sentences. Rather, I think in terms of subjects and objects and verbs, not to mention adjectives, adverbs, and other stuff, plus more stuff, like swear words and offensive stuff, although I wouldn't rule out other things like, prepositions, similes and mixed metaphors, and then of course I feel thirsty, have to take a piss, and can't believe that Pacquiao has decided Mosley is his next best opponent, but I wouldn't want anyone to lose sight of PBF's culpability, who's basically a bum/man-child who left his balls in the 130 pound division.

This is exactly how I feel Mitchell.

Objectively would I rather see Pacquiao fight Berto?

Of course. It would be a more fun fight, and I don't really want to see Mosley take a brutal beating.

But quite simply, I don't want Pacquiao to fight Berto, because Berto doesn't deserve it.

    exactly

the fact that guys like Mosley and Hopkins are still floating around should tell everyone all that needs to be told about the current state of the sport... its no longer about "the remarkable, ageless Hopkins" or the "youthful Shane Mosley" ... its about the fact that there is such a shallow talent pool that these dinosaurs are still somehow relevant... I cant wait for the superfights of the future where two jackoffs nervously leap in and out, throw wild, fast, aimless shots and then hold and win "Fight Of The Year" ... I cant remember the last time I saw a young boxer who can slip punches backwards as well as forwards instead of jumping fifteen feet across the ring... maybe ten years ago or so... even journeymen as recently as 1995 or 2000 look like Nicolino Locche compared to today's young "stars"... thats how fucking jumpy and nervous it all looks... only one fighter ever looked great jumping and that was Roy Jones Jr. ... the problem now is all of these guys think they can do that... my god, guys like Pernell Whitaker or Julio Cesar Chavez would have a field day with the current crop of 135-140 pounders... I dont know how or why people cant see this or are unwilling to see it... the fighters of today may run faster than the fighters of the previous 40 or 50 years, but I dont see one iota of evidence that suggests they can box anywhere near as well... thats why these old, washed up guys are still relevant... they have some of those "old school" skills

and here's a pre-emptive go fuck yourself to TLC and the other faggots who are going to say "Bert Sugar" or some horseshit to what I just wrote... its the fucking truth... this is an era in which there are literally only three non-heavyweight fighters (Pac, Floyd, Marquez) who are P4P guys that I would rank as great fighters in any era... I've never ever witnessed an era in boxing like that... the 1990s was a superb decade, lots of terrific fighters... the 2000s were terrific early on, then a bunch of guys retired gradually and I noticed that nobody coming up to take their places was worth a shit

all you guys that want to believe that Tim Bradley, for example, would have been anything other than maybe a number 10 or 9 contender in the 1990s, go right ahead... I;m not sold on it at all... all I see is the typical nervous, jumpy, stiff, wild amateur without headgear that now populates the tops of each division

Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest junior Lightweights that ever walked the Earth, and was a good enough lightweight and Junior Welterweight to give ANYBODY a tough time, and win more than he loses

NOTHING you can say will change that and I HATE the guy... his greatness as a fighter was proven ages ago

Honestly, if we're talking about fights at 147, which is where Pacquiao's people have been saying a third Marquez fight would be at, I don't know that I'd have that much more interest in seeing Pacquiao fight Marquez a third time than fight Mosley.

I mean, the main reason people are down on Mosley as a Pacquiao opponent is because he lost 11 of 12 rounds against Mayweather, but that's at least as many rounds as Marquez lost to Mayweather.

Yeah, Mosley didn't look very good in his subsequent bout at 154 against Mora, but Mora's an ugly opponent and Mosley didn't look that scintillating his last time at 154 until the final seconds of the Mayorga bout...which, btw, should probbaly get a mention in that 'latest stoppage' thread if it hasn't already.

    Some numbers:

@danrafaelespn By the way, have been told @AndreBerto's team asked for $3.5 million plus PPV upside for the Pacquiao fight. Berto didn't price himself out. about 3 hours ago

@danrafaelespn Just spoke to Shane again. He says his guarantee for the fight with Pacquiao is $5 million plus an upside of the PPV profits. #boxing about 3 hours ago

I don't think Martinez was ever a serious consideration. If he didn't ko Willams as well as he did, no one here would have mentioned his name in the first place.

Utterly, utterly fucking pointless fight for Pac. And not without it's dangers for him given how Shane can punch.

Yes Shane can punch...it's a shame he rarely does these days. Thus, selected to fight Pac.

He was still only a couple shots away from putting Floyd away and Pac is way more hittable than Floyd. Mosley can still punch, and Manny still gets punched.

I have no idea why they're taking this fight. All risk no benefit. Bradley or Alvarez or Berto or Brook in the UK are all bigger, more appealing and less risky fights.

Anyone have the odds on a Mosley win? If they are wide enough I might go for it. Pacquaio has to fuck up his medication sooner or later- and no better man than Shane to recognize if that has happened.

People are on Shane's case. Fine. He probably didn't do much worse versus Floyd than a lot of you are predicting Pac would do against the same fighter.

And in Pac's last fight, he needed 12 to beat up the left-overs of a guy Shane brutalized in 7 or 8 rounds or whatever it was.

So.......Shane is an old man. Well Pac isn't getting any younger.

If I get wide odds I am putting some $ on this for Shane to do him.

honestly, i dont care to see pacquiao fight anymore. he's not gonna fight martinez and he shouldnt have to. he might as well retire. same can be said for floyd.

This is probably true, but there is more money to be made, more copy to be generated out of the mirage of what is possible. So if Pac and Floyd just stick around for another 12 months.......:cheer:

Look at Michael Nunn. He is in prison as we have mad threads about him. Floyd and Manny are still free. Dream of the possibilities...the endless threads.....the matchups we can have, right here, in our own Cyber Madison Square Garden. Ahhhh.

    I agree.

I think Pacquiao is going to beat the ABSOLUTE shit out of Mosley, but Shane CAN still punch at 147, no doubt, as evidenced in the Floyd fight early on (and Floyd has a very good chin).

So yeah, pointless, meaningless fight, and less interesting than the names you mentioned - yet riskier. Does seem like an odd fight for them to take.

Apart from Brook. I mean come on, does anyone in America even know how Brook is?

I still have yet to meet a single person who's interested in this fight. I've only seen a few on Twitter - and only because Shane went out of his way to ReTweet all (six or seven) of them.

  28. Shane will be destroyed. All he has is a (body) punchers chance.

I'd much rather see Pac fight Bradley, Alexander or Berto, but none of those guys are PPV fighters. Mosley if nothing else is still a name. As much as I hate this fight, it's probably the best option for Pac to make the most money aside from Floyd obviously.
