I dug all the Fight Nights but my personal fav was the PS1 version of KO Kings 2001 with that "brand new" feature of Total Punch Control. More fluid combinations. What is your favorite boxing game?

    Hut*Hut The Mackintosh of temazepam

    The most recent fight night.

KOK 01 was great at the time too.

  4. Slice N Dice

Slice N Dice Big stiff idiot

Victory Boxing on PS1 or 2, can't remember

  5. Hut*Hut

    Hut*Hut The Mackintosh of temazepam

That was almost great. But ended up just being frustrating as shit.

Really? I got the hang of that one quite quick, I had a sick fighter called Mad Dog Shannon who was something like 78-1 lol he was bad ass

  7. Mitchell Kane

Mitchell Kane WBC Silver Diamond Emeritus Champ

That's the only one I've played.

  8. Fight Night round 4, hands down.

I'd always have mad love for the original KO Kings (99) on the PS1 though as well as the PS2 version of KOKings 2001.

It's not so much that you couldn't win as i remember, just that aspects of the game just weren't right and felt cartoony. Certain aspects were amazing, but it was kinda glitchey.....its a while ago i cant quite remember but i remember being frustrated by it.

Maybe it was just that there weren't real fighters or the option to create them

On the original KO kings I created a 6'6 fat black guy with a peroxide blonde afro and rainbow coloured shorts. I called him Horris Pinker. He destroyed souls.

He was the most fun I ever had with a boxing game.:cheer:

Here's what I've played at length...

    Fight Night Round 4
    Fight Night Round 3
    Fight Night Round 2
    KO Kings 2000
    KO Kings 1999

The plain & clear winner, all things considered, is KO Kings 2000. I still own this, & it plays on my backward-compatible PS2, though it only gathers dust nowadays. If the option is there to use buttons for punches, I will purchase the forthcoming Fight Night Champion.

  12. very surprising choice.

2000 is the second worst of the Easports boxing games, only the ridiculous KOkings 2002 is worse.

In your defense, however, 2000 had the best "signature moves" of any boxing game to date. But it had no strategy. A novice could play that game and button mash and win.

My main reason was the very extensive roster, particularly noticeable at HW.

    The Genius DEMONRY!!

Isn't that the embarrassing hw you said was a solid fight for Vitali. Seems you think he's a punchline after all.

Topic: If not a Knockout Kings game then FN round 2. Whichever the last one was where you could use buttons and the stick and without the ludicrous haymakers.

    This.

An often over-looked computer game from the early 90s.

The only issue with this game is that every 3 fights the computer opponent would be much, much tougher.

I also enjoyed Evander Holyfield Boxing on the Sega Genesis about 15 years or so ago.

Yep. The graphics were poor even considering the standard then but with 50 different opponents, eight different punches, full movements, head and body blocking, even the ability to mock your opponent etc it was much ahead of its time. I wouldn't want to know how many hours I spent with this game in my childhood, but it paid off since at last I KOed the Champ in the first:cheer:

my favorite too... good selection of fighters, attributes werent always perfect, but much closer than we see in any of those games now... its funny, the PS2 version of that game sucked

I created a black middleweight called "Leroy Jefferson" who had a ferocious left hook and a shaved head

I also had a masterful boxing pasty lightweight called Tarlach O'Donovan with green trunks
