I watched "Letters from Iwo Jima" first and it was so good I wanted to watch "Flags" next. But if I had watched "Flags" first(like everybody else did since it was released first) then probably I would not have been that motivated to watch the other. "Letters from Iwo Jima" is a great film that many people ignored because it has subtitles (all the dialogue is in japanese except for two scenes). I plan to watch this film again.

Scarlett Johansson looked beautiful in this movie. I still cannot believe how it ended though. I just did not see that ending coming.

Saw The Town, not too bad, although it did remind me of Heat more than just a little bit. Jeremy Renner turns in another good performance, and Affleck solid, in what's a pretty good location for him.

Inception...pretty good, not the mind-bender I was expecting, but fast-paced for most of it...although, the end seemed to take as long as that slow motion drop off the bridge.

Repo Men...wouldn't call this one that good, and it tries to be too clever, but with that said, I'm a sucker for dystopian movies, regardless the quality.

The Expendables...wasn't even really watching this thing about half way through.

Expendables could have been so much better. I like that one scene with Stallone and Statham when they are in the plane and kick those guys asses down below.

Yeah, I'd rather see the movie ExpAdables based on that guy in Big Trouble Little China.

Me too but especially Death Proof. Russell was fucking awesome in his role. "...but I'm afraid, I'm going to have to file you under chickenshit". Best part of the movie IMO.

VAMPIRES SUCK A spoof of the TWILIGHT movies. Not very funny, mildly amusing at times though mostly because the actress who plays "Becca" has a nice ass. 4/10

Don't Look Back French film starring Sophie Marceau and Monica Bellucci. Weird film about a housewife, Jeanne (Marceau) who starts experiencing strange things like seeing the furniture in her house changing, her husband and children changing to complete strangers and herself having some weird metamorphosis. All this leads her on a trip to Italy where she thinks might find a clue of what is happening to her. At the end there is a revelation that is not as surprising as it should have been. An ok movie if you like this kind of David Lynch-like genre. Oh and you do get to see one naked breast from Monica Bellucci who is looking like her real age here. 7/10

The part where Franco cut his arm off is not as gruesome as most people thought.

No need to be giving scenes away in this thread.

Saw Lebanon...not too bad, offers a small view of 1982 through the eyes of an Israeli tank.

Animal Kingdom...pretty good crime-family movie from Down Under. Guy Pearce is in it, but not in a real starring role.

Watched this over the weekend. It was a pretty enjoyable movie. I think I would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. I just cannot stand the main actor. He was also in The Sorcerer's Apprentice with Nicolas Cage. He acted the same way in that movie, always slouching and fidgeting and seemingly unsure of himself. It's supposed to be his role in this movie, but I don't think he had to act much as I think this is just how he is. Why Molly would be interested in this guy is beyond me. If he had been funny then I'd understand maybe, but he wasn't even funny and had pretty much no personality.

The friend in the movie was funny. I liked him in the TV show Car Poolers. That was a show that I thought was really funny, but that got canceled after only a few episodes.

The main guy's brother and the guy who was dating the main guy's ex are now both in that new show Perfect Couples. Talk about a completely unfunny show.

Really enjoyed this movie. It's not always easy finding good movies to watch with the family, but this is one of them. I had really low expectations going in because my brother had said it was really bad, but was very pleasantly surprised.

    6.5/10

    True Grit.

Wished they had fleshed out Josh Brolin's character a lot more (I've always been a fan of his), but that aside, this was just excellent viewing. I was unsure of Damon going in, but he delivered. Everyone did, really.

Those two were both good. Ridley Scott got shitted on for 'a good year' for some reason, but i thought it was well filmed. plus, that chick from inception (not juno) is gorgeous.

aranofsky claims the fountain as his best work, yet it was met w/ mixed responses. i thought it was creative and had some cool, fancy scenes, but the story itself was a bit nebulous to understand. definitely not on par w/ the wrestler or black swan.

It was a pathetic effort. The movie tried to be too much of everything and failed at everything.

I haven't seen any of those movies. I started watching The Fountain once, but something came up and never finished it; only got about 15 minutes into it.

I can't really think of any romantic movies off the top of my head. Seems like the generic answer, but maybe The Notebook. I also always liked Sleepless in Seattle.

A few I'm eagerly awaiting for my DVD collection...

    Due Date
    True Grit

These would be the best two cinema films I've probably seen in the past six or so months.

true grit was well done. i thought that little girl's performance was magnificent. jeff bridges was jeff bridges.

saw 'the kids are alright' the other night. wasn't intrigued by the premise (about a married lesbian couple), but heard too many good things about it. julianne moore at her age is still a fox.

Watched Buried the other day...not too bad...a little bit similar to Lebanon in that they're war movies that primarily focus on the main actor/s in confined spaces.

In Lebanon, it was a tank...in Buried, it's Ryan Reynolds as a contractor in Iraq who finds himself buried in a coffin after an attack.

I just saw No strings attached yesterday. Not impressed at all. VERY predictable. Hell everything about the movie was predictable and it wasn't funny at all. I would give it 1.5/5

127 Hours - Enjoyed this movie a lot. Typical Danny Boyle movie, replete with excellent cinematography, dream/nightmare sequences galore, and a bittersweet redemptive ending for the hero. James Franco was at the top of his game. Most of the movie took place in a confined space but Boyle's directing never lets things get boring or overdrawn.

That appeared evident from the commercials, and the reviews...I'm only surprised anyone expected anything different.

The last Vince Vaughn movie and this upcoming Sandler movie look boringly predictable as well.

The only one I can think of that looks like there might be something funny to it is Hall Pass.
