Clearly this is a prequel to The conjuring, which was just terrific. However, it's a different director. John R. Leonetti, which really has not directed anything good. So i am really skeptical about how good this one be. It's a damn shame James Wan has given up horror right when he was getting great at it.
Hmmm...I kind of remember that in The Conjuring it was mentioned that Annabelle was a very old doll and this doesn't look like that 'origins' story if they want to keep any continuity with the first film established tale.
Annabelle had nothing to do with the conjuring other than the main Ghost expert captured her long ago and was in his room of things.
Didn't the movie started with two college girls who were roommates and one got Annabelle in her bed? Wasn't it mentioned she was a very old doll?
Im not sure if the movie started that way, but eitherway, it had nothing to do with the movie itself. It was just another story in the life of this ghost hunter guy.
But it was there. It doesn't matter if it wasn't the main plot. Those facts were established in that film.
