Mayweather just recently said Boots is a better fighter than Canelo. Isn't it a bit premature. Don't get me wrong Boots is impressive but how about him fighting a top rated welter weight first before we annoint him as the next big thing? It seems like every other day we hear about this guy all over social media and boxing forums about how great he is. But hasn't beat anybody.
It's a fair question. The last guy Boots knocked out was on a 2 loss streak. I just wish things were like back in the day when the best fought the best. Then again it may not be Boots fault at all. He might be looked at as a high risk low reward fight or he might be capping and all hype. We won't know until he gets in there with a top guy at 147.
Right... Instead of Realizing Floyd's Just Being a PETTY, INSECURE Motherfucker by Throwing Shade @ Canelo, Dude is OFFENDED Floyd's PETTY, INSECURE Ass is Throwing Shade @ Canelo... REED
Back in the day, mismatches and keep busy fights like Ennis-Dorlome were far more common than they are now. Prospects also matured properly. Ennis is extremely talented, but comparing him to Canelo is dumb. One is top three pound-for-pound, the other is still a prospect.
It's not just Mayweather. It's boxing forums, boxing channels like this one called Champside that has Boots in the number # 9 p4p list.
The "Problem" w/Boots Is He DIDN'T Sign w/Top Rank, PBC, Matchroom, Golden Boy or Any of the Name Brand Promoters Right Out of the Gate and was LITERALLY Frozen Out...It HAPPENS When Fighters Dare to Go the Independent Route, Just Ask Demetrius Andrade... Boots Has Recently Gotten in the Good Graces of PBC and Subsequently Beat the Brakes Off Sergey Lipinets (Never Been Stopped) and Thomas Dulorme (Went 6 Rounds w/Bud Crawford, Stopped in Half a Round by Boots).... Crawford, Mikey Garcia, Johnny Tapia, Kelly Pavlik, Danny Romero, Tim Bradley, Mark 'Too Sharp' Johnson, Diego Corrales, etc., were All Managed by Cameron Dunkin, Who Calls Boots "The BEST" Prospect He's Ever Had... Lou DiBella, Who Has NO Affiliation w/Boots, Calls Him the Most TALENTED Fighter He's Seen Since "Roy Jones"... Granted, High Praise CAN'T FIGHT For You But Make NO Mistake, Boots is HIGH Risk, LOW Reward for Elite Level Welters...That's Why His Resume is Thin, NOT Because He's Reluctant... There's Also His PEDIGREE; Boots' Ol' Man Boxed as Did Both of His 2 Older Brothers...As Looooooooooooooong as His Chin ISN'T Shit, Boots Ennis is a Can't-Miss, 2 Weight World Champion @ WORST... REED
Again, Why are YOU Allowing Clearly BIASED Opinions to Impact You???...REED Doesn't Have to Tell You MOST Youtube Channels Have an AGENDA, Right???... REED
Don't get me wrong I hope he proves me wrong. He's a fun fighter to watch. Let's hope his chin holds up. And I'm well aware of Lipnets the guy Mikey Garcia fought a few years ago. He's looked spectacular against b level opposition so hopefully now that he's with PBC he'll get a big name fight. Even a Danny Garcia would be a good test. The fight I would love to see is Ortiz vs Boots. And I believe both guys would take that fight.
Danny Garcia is done at welterweight. He's chasing a Charlo payday at 154. And even if he wasn't done at welterweight, he would not fight Ennis. Danny, being from Philly, knows damn well Ennis would beat his ass.
Allegedly, Haymon/PBC Owes Floyd Money While Trying to Sign Canelo, Simultaneously... That's Why Floyd's PISSY Towards Canelo... REED
Garcia is chasing Charlo? What a clown. Charlo needs to get past CastaƱo first and that's no walk in the park.
there is indeed a lot of people ready to call him the best welterweight in the world even though he is largely unproven.
No doubt... unless he hides a crystal jaw or cannot handle a firefight (and going by the Lupinets fight, it seems it ain't the case), he's a 2 division champ at worst. One of the few ''can't miss'' prospect at the moment imo (and calling him a prospect might be a strech at this point).
