Just caught "High Plains Drifter" for the first time. Clint Eastwood plays a ghostly cowboy who rides into town seeking vengeance on the townsfolk by forcing himself on the women, making them turn on each other, having them paint the entire town red in an act of symbolism, sacrificing most of them to the bad guys, and generally just fucking with their heads while acting as their savior.

...and he was supposed to be the good guy.
