This is moreso towards the boys in the UK (Mainly England) seriously, stop hyping up your shitty fighters!!

Seriously, for the past 3 or 4 years,I've heard NOTHING but how GREAT Clinton Woods is,and how much better he's gotten since the Jones fight.

He wasn't even good enough to wear a 39 year old Tarvers jockstrap:laughing: I had him losing an ABSOLUTE SHUT OUT to Tarver. He lost every simngle fucking round to a 39 year old Tarver. Now i could see about two rounds that were close, but Tarver pulled them all out in the end.

I'd be pressed to see which rounds anyone gave Woods,if any?? That's how terrible he was:doh:

The only fighter worth of fuck from the UK is Joe Calzaghe, and he seems to get little to no love from the Brits, even though he's P4P the top 2 fighter on the planet:notallthere:

No offense, but seriously, stop hyping your shitty fighters!! Expect Haye to be BRUTALLY knocked the fuck out in any one of his next 3 fights. I say three, cause he'll only be fighting top 300 type HW's in his first 2 fight at Heavy!!:bears:

LOL, in fairness Hatton is still a pretty good fighter. Haye would still be a very good CW, but I agree with you he will not get far at heavyweight. Woods? Well Woods had a rough time with Gonzalez in the rematch and really didn't look that good that night. That should have been a hint about how "good" he is. Next week Hopkins will beat Calzaghe and then the british picture will really be in the dumps,:bears:

Woods was terrible, Tarver was nowhere near his best but won the fight by a landslide and imo the judges were pretty kind to Woods on the cards.
I didn't hype Woods up before this fight because I pretty much expected that he'd taken on more than he could chew. I was still disappointed in his efforts though, I expected him to make more of a fight of it than he did.
I definitely think that Calzaghe will put up a display next weekend to pick British boxing back up again.

Have to give British fighters credit in one respect, recently they've come over here for a number of big fights/tough tests.

    Particularly Calzaghe, Hatton, Woods.

Junior Witter made an effort to take a fight here...but Hopkins didn't appear to want it.

Supposedly there's talks that Khan will fight on the Diaz-Pacquaio undercard, as well, and while that may not exactly be much of a "test", at least the effort is there to fight in the U.S. market.

What a load of bollocks, nobody has been hyping woods.

He's never been touted as anything more than a decent fighter.

Exactly, most people predicted a close fight and I think it would be fair to say Tarver over performed where as Woods wasn’t at his best.

I wasn’t surprised to hear Clintons words after the fight, it looked like he had had enough with the sport half way through the fight.

After watching last nights boxing Calzaghe would clean up that division, that was the first time I saw "Bad Chad" fight, not impressed at all, he is one dumb fighter and was very lucky to win.

    Decent fighter??:eeeek:

Whatever you say Spice Girl!! Woods wasn't even a third rate fighter. Can't even imagine how he was a champ of any belts of anykind?

God,you think I would of learned my lesson by now listening to you guys hype up your shitty prospects!! Thats actually my own stupidity listening to you guys:doh::lol:

Like I said,Calzaghe is the only fighter of note from the UK,and he ain't even a Brit. Hatton's alright, but limited.

Get ready for Haye to be the next Brit Hype job to be utterly knocked the fuck out!! It's in the cards, and you know it is!!

Woods completely froze yesterday and looked utterly disinterested after about five rounds. He fought possibly the dumbest fight I have ever seen...

However, to describe him as 'third rate and/or a 'prospect' is ridiculous. He was a world champion for three years and is 35 years old. You can't be third rate and a champion for three years, nor can you be 35 and a prospect. :dunno:

As to the rest of this post, in some ways, you are right. Thanks to Werren, there are/have been some pretty overhyped guys out of the UK recently. Paper champs like Gavin Rees were never much to shout about. Enzo Mac is useful but was hugely over-rated. Amir Khan is not really progressing as he should be because he continues to fight feather-fisted tomato cans.

But Calzaghe is a great, P4P top three fighter, and in Hatton and Witter, the UK has the best pair of 140lb fighters in the world. Haye is the best Cruiser in the world, even if he doesn't do anything at HW.

Not to mention a whole raft of promising Ammy's going to Beijing for the 2008 games...

Frankly, if you are making a pick on a fight having not actually seen the fighter you are backing, then you deserve to look daft...

woods, audley harrison, amir khan - no british boxing fans hyped these guys. indeed, we're often more critical. if some buzz got made by british/US promoters, go talk to them. none of the brits on this board hyped these guys up.

Holy shit, you really are one of the thickest, most ignorant people on this site.

Calzaghe is not a Brit? What is he then? French?

If you really want to take something away from last nights doubleheader, don't let it be the fact that another British fighter failed in the US. Instead you should focus on the fact that if the real winners from last night got matched up, we'd being looking at Tarver-Johnson 3.

Oh, and make no mistake about it. The winner of Hopkins-Calzaghe is the best 175 pounder without exception.

Nah, even he couldn't be that stupid. He was born and bred in Wales.

If one were to insinuate that, one would also have to consider only Native Americans to be Americans

Woods was a decent fighter in the context of a pretty weak division, and he had a crap night at the office. I can't think of one Brit here who hyped him as anything more than that :dunno:

Haye beat the unified cruiserweight champion and then beat one of the remaining titlists in less than a round. LOL at the "next Brit hype job". Once again, I can't think of one Brit or Euro poster here who hasn't mentioned his dodge chin or possible lack of success at HW.

In fact, usually the Brits or Euro posters on this site are overtly "objective" and critical of home fighters' efforts or ambitions.

Welsh and Scots ( as well as English obviously ) are definitively Brits, they are all from Great Britain, Irish aren't. You're mistaken Egnlish for Brits, Calzaghe is a brit ( well, you could say he's italian ) but he ain't english. Great Britain is the island, England, Welsh and Scotland are the "parts" of this island

    I stand corrected,I mean calling them English,not Brits.:bears:

Sort of like how foreigners consider and call ALL Americans "Yanks",even though only the Northeastern US is considered anything Yankee.

    Holy shit. Unbelievable.

He's like one of those dullard Americans they show being questioned in the street, being asked where Canada is on the map, and pointing to Iraq

I'm feeling nice this evening Octopus you fucking mongoloid numbskull, so I shall educate you.

Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland. Hence the term Brit being used to describe any of the aforementioned three. You utter, utter neanderthal.
