Calvary - Fantastic film about an Irish priest whose life is threatened by a parishioner and the days leading up to his so-called "judgement day". Brendan Gleeson probably should have gotten an Oscar nomination for this.

Then I Googled 'Cavalry' movie and it came up with a shitty 1950s thing....

yeah it's a very good movie. The same director that did The Guard, also starring B. Gleason.

 

Word. He also did an excellent job as the storyteller in 'In The Heart of The Sea'.

 

I watched it last night on HBO. It was a solid movie, not a great one. And Brendan Gleeson ALWAYS does a good acting job, but I don't think this was quite enough to warrant an Oscar nomination.
