Quick, savage, & bloody. An old-school skirmish, if ever you did see one. My green is on Dempsey. Quicker hands, greater reach, more accurate punching. Tonne of heart & desire, a great beard, & under-rated endurance. A more explosive puncher than Marciano, with better overall power (that is, his weakest hand --- the right --- is superior to Marciano's --- the left). I see both men hitting the deck --- perhaps more than once --- but the ref pulls a bloodied & battered Marciano out of there when Dempsey traps him along the ropes for a pounding in the fifth or sixth. Very short, savage affair.
How much would you pay for a ticket to this one, Sly? You can bet it would be plenty, with Rickard involved in promotions.
