Frozen This delightful recount of the classic Hans Christian Anderson fairytale 'The Snow Queen' will go down as the best version ever done of this story and it is already heralded as a new Disney classic. The themes of sisterly love, loss, grief, friendship, betrayal and sacrifice are explored within this highly entertaining film which will delight kids and the inner child in adults. My whole family loved it. There are a couple of songs which are quite catchy, but some don't fly much. The characters are interesting and there is a nice twist in the Disney tradition that breaks the stereotypes you thought was very predictable at first. The snowman Olaf is a riot. Great film. 9/10

I heard it skimps on the Christian aspect the original story had.

It did altered many aspects of the original tale and made it more family friendly. It has many valuable lessons universal to all creeds. But Disney nor Hollywood has ever been faithful to any classic fairy tale. As it stands is very enjoyable if you don't mind the liberties taken and the cute looney snowman.

Good movie. Typical dinsney movie. It is not as good as the ratings though imo. I liked Tangled better.

Not typical Disney movie. This one is an instant classic, way much better than 'Tangled' which was nice, but forgettable. The song 'Let it go' will most likely win the Best Song Oscar tonight. Me and my family have watched 'Frozen' many times now.

does this movie contain all of the typical modern Disney faggotry of the characters speaking Ironically and saying stupid shit like "Talk to the hand" and "Oh no you didn't"?

Then your friends that have children convince themselves "this is really good" and dismiss your misgivings about it and then halfway through the film, every shitty thing that you predicted would happen has indeed happened???

What disney movies have done this?

  8. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

every single disney film I have seen that was produced in the last 15 years has contained that sort of thing

I think you are confusing Disney with Dreamworks, who is doing lot's animation movies too and loves to put in Pop Culture. Like Shrek and Madagasscar and Kung Fu Panda, etc. Disney typically doesnt put much pop culture in their movies, because they want them to stand the test of time.

Just watched "The Emperor's New Groove" the other night and there was loads of that kind of shit in it:dunno:

From 14 years ago? I havent seen that movie in a minute, but dont remember any pop references. But i didnt say it doesnt happen. They just try to stay away from it. Im sure there is one or two. But the majority of their movies typically dont have things like that. Either way, that is hardly a recent film.

Sometimes I think Anthony works for Disney, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio and Quentin Tarantino

Oh sorry. Oops. Me expecting clogg to admit he could be wrong is asking too much. Never mind clogg. Yes. All Disney movies in the past 15 years say "talk to the hand" and. " no you didn't" whatever else you said. It's not dream works animation, who is actually known and mocked for this on a constant basis.

Not at all. The rest of the post was all business. It stuck to the point and even offered you another way to admit the possibility of being wrong. Because many people, including myself have accused dreamworks animation of doing exactly what you accused Disney of doing. Mind you, some of those movies i liked too. But they wont be classics in 50 years like many Disney movies will be. Due to bullshit like "You the Bird" or "Talk to the fin"

I gave you an example of a movie in the last 15 years with that kind of faux-hip, ironic dialogue and you shot back with "14 years ago??"

Last I checked, 14 years ago is "in the last 15 years", so what was your point?

  24. Anthony

    Anthony Admin Staff Member

    Cause you said:
    I asked:
    You said:
And the proceeded to name one movie from 14 years ago. I was asking cause i was generally interested, because i know Disney tries to stay away from that. And Im sure it's even more than just one. Those are probably exceptions and not the rule. But you said every movie you saw in the last 15 years after you said modern Disney movies. Clearly Modern isn't 15 years ago. But that's besides the point. What it seems we have concluded is that you have only seen one Disney movie in 15 years and that was 14 years ago. And to Answer your initial question in this thread, the answer is No.

  25. cdogg187

    cdogg187 GLADYS

LOL, is this a serious post?

    1) Good, we are in agreement

    2) yes, every movie I saw

    3) LOL, Modern clearly isn't 15 years? How do you define "Modern" exactly? What is clear about that word?

    4) This could only be concluded by wild guessing and a lack of reading comprehension... Where on Earth did you get this idea? At what point did you ask me to start naming films? I threw that out as a film I had just seen, purely as an example, it was not intended as some exhaustive list of films

    5) See how easy that was?

    Anthony Admin Staff Member

    Somewhat

    GOOD!!!!!!!

    The 1 you saw.

Modern means present or at least close to present. They dont even hand draw movies like Emperor's New Grove anymore.

Post #7 in this thread when i asked you to name what Disney Movies do this. Movies. Plural. More than one.

    Depends who you ask.

Yes, Anthony. You're right, Anthony. Disney movies are really awesome to watch when you don't have a kid forcing you to sit through them. Yes, Anthony
