He is a smaller,.more skilled, modern day Julian Jackson.

he can turn lights out at any time

yeah, his power is out of this world. Weird that we got a lot of huge punching southpaws in the last few years.

He can punch….but he doesn’t have Julian Jackson power…let see him against Teo or Haney(didn’t they agree to fight each other if they won their next fight?)…

    His power is overrated.

A Julian Jackson style puncher doesn't go 12 with an old, one legged Gamboa.

I don't think he has that sort of power, really. Santa Cruz fight sure, but Klit landed a left hook that out Eddie Chambers to sleep, I wouldn't say he was Foremanesque either..

He can hit, for sure, but the guy Rolly walked onto one and was still up.

The guy Santa Cruz .... That was spectacular but most fighters, if they can land that money shot, are going to do serious damage.

Froch coming from behind to ice Groves and Taylor and putting Abraham in his shell and battering Bute doesn't make him Julian Jackson either.

I'd love to believe Tank was some sort of monster, it would make prospective fights more intriguing.

I just don't believe he's even mentally one-hitter quitter but he might be going that way as things stand. He seems to be settling into a groove of letting guys do their bit and then looking to take them out as they try to press their "advantage".

That's going to cost him eventually..

His style isn't similar to Jackson's at all.

Tank is more like a poor man's Naz.

Except Nas would go after guys, i think Tank is becoming a bit of a counter puncher or at least a guy who lets a guy have his way then tries to take him out when the guy gets tired and sloppy.

That Rolly guy looked lije a rank leao amateur the way he walked onto that big left.

I can only recall one Jacksom KO like it and that was vs Herol Graham. Ironically in that fight it was Jackson who was flagging and Graham who seemed fresher.

  9. George Crowcroft

He's a lot more technically sound than Naz, in fairness. Just nowhere near as talented lol

I really enjoy Davis' style. A heavy handed, creative counter-punching southpaw who also is able to walk a guy down. Sign me up.

But he can be really lax and lazy, as seen against Rolly.

Tank might be falling in live with his power.. I dont see a Barrera vs Jones style of collspse, but i can see him "running out of rounds" some day, a la Loma vs Lopez.

Anyways with Crawford vs Spence allegedly made, its time for these littler men to start making the big fights.

REED Wouldn’t Say “Lax and Lazy” as Much as Tank’s AWARE of When to Press the Action…

Coach Calvin Told Tank to ATTACK Rolly a Couple Rounds Before the 6th and Tank Replied “He’s Still STRONG Right Now”, or Words to That Effect..,

Tank’s Basically a FINESSE Fighter w/Handspeed, Countering Ability and Fight Ending Power In his Left Hand….

Tank’s Frame and KO Ratio Suggests a Seek and Destroy TysonESQUE Sort, But That Ain’t Him.

I don't know what to make of Tank to be honest, which is quite shocking, if not shameful if we considering how long he's been in the limelight. I see a lot of abilities, foremost his fight ending power, but he's small and a bit ponderous so it's a possibility elite talents would handle him comfortably. I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record but he really need to step up his comp. The Pedraza win might still be his best one (probably second to Santa Cruz to be honest) and that was his first meaningful fight when he was 22...

Totally agree with this. I like Tank but it is always a big question mark for me if a guy is dropping as many rounds as he has against the level of opponent he's up against. It is inevitable that a guy will come along who can take the power, and then he's in trouble.

True, but I do feel he's much more effective when he comes forward and fight in a ''Tysonesque'' manner (less explosive and reckless but more consistent and measured though). His performance vs Rolly was garbage imo. Maybe he knew it was only a matter of time and didn't want to take risks but I don't see this approach working at the highest level.

REED Thinks Tank FELT Rolly in Round 2.

Rolly Landed a Hard Left to Tank’s Head, While Against the Ropes, Then Flung Tank to the Canvas Shortly After…Not Saying Tank was HURT or BUZZED, But he TASTED the Power for Sure and Played it Safer Than Normal, Until the Perfect Opportunity Came.

It Certainly Wasn’t a Time Capsule Tank Performance, but in REAL Time the Bout was Suspenseful and Up for Grabs UNTIL the Moment Tank KO’ed Him…

    “Garbage” is a Bit Harsh…

His power is no joke and we can agree that he’s one of the best punchers in boxing right now. I think Tank gets under appreciated mainly due to not fighting world class opponents but he is quite a monster puncher. Can definitely end a fight at any given moment like Julian Jackson or Wilder. His skills also gets underrated too, he was more than willing to lose some rounds and let Rolly get overconfident so he could land a clean counter that would end the fight.

He’s a fun fighter to watch, just wish that he didn’t keep hiding behind Floyd’s skirt and just fight the top dogs.

I just can't "trust" any fighter who seems to not have a "volume" aspect to his game. Spence has it, or had it. Even Khan had it. You're eventually going to have one of those nights where you have to run after some guy and out throw him. Or out throw him as you run away.

Think Khan fending off Maidana with mindless flurries and movement. Or Vitali vs Arreola, just moving away and throwing lots of weird arm punches.

David Tua was a short guy who just didnt throw enough when he fought Lewis. It wasn't just Lewis power that kept him negative, he fought like that vs Byrd too. Way too reliant on a few big lefts. Guys like Byrd didn't run into stupid shots. Ibeabuchi brought volume. Wkad had volume and reach.

Canelo and Frampton are two other guys with that short powerful build that lost fights because the other guy was longer and busier and their occassional bursts weren't enough over 12 rounds to swing it.

That's going to be Tanks eventual undoing, in my opinion. Some rangy guy with a good chin and a big gas tank who just works too hard.

Whether They're Julian Jackson Level or NOT, Wilder, Inoue and Tank are THE Best Punchers in Boxing, Currently....Their KO %'s and the QUALITY of Their KO's is Just Different Than Anyone Else in the Game, @ the Moment...

REED's Always Gotten the Sense Floyd Either Didn't TRUST Tank vs. Elite Level Guys or Didn't WANT Tank to Approach His Same Level of Appeal, in the Slightest...Tank Can BANG, Floyd Couldn't After Leaving 130...Let's Not Overlook Just How INSECURE Floyd Is; He Always Wants to FEEL Like HE Has the Biggest Dick in the Room, Even Now...

Floyd Openly HATED on Wilder for Similar Reasons; Wilder Had KO Appeal Which Escaped Floyd By the Time he was On Top of the Sport...

If the Rumors are TRUE of Tank Leaving Mayweather Promotions, REED Has Little Doubt We'll FINALLY See Tank In w/Elite Guys...

Remains to Be Seen HOW Tank Would Fight Ryan Garcia or Loma, but He Could AFFORD to Be Extra Aggressive/Less Cautious Against Haney, For Sure...

When it comes to Lomachenko, that's mercury to Tanks fork. I just feel that right now in boxing nobody defuses a banger better than Lomachenko.

Sure, he lost the Lopez fight but only just barely. And he never suffered in there. Kamboso landed a hail mary in round 1 and still nearly got taken out very late.

So Tank can skip that for now. If i were Tank, I'd look for goof offs like Haney, then Kamboso, then Lopez and if he still ain't lost by then, go for a now older possibly more worn out Lomachenko.

Edit: forgot Haney vs Kamboso is next. Id still stay away from Garcia if i was tank. Number 1, Garcia is such a time waster the fight would fall through. Total waste if energy. Number 2, a tall rangy skittish nervy boxer wont make Tank look good and might even beat him if as suspected Davis makes the mistake of getting into a drawn out game of cat and mouse.

Against Haney, and especially against Shakur, he's gonna have real issues.

Tank is definitely a poor man's Hamed.

Hard to say though because against b tier opposition Naz actually looked spectacular.

Tank has great timing and power which is unusual for such a little guy. I feel like he will get the Haney fight and just never get going and give too much respect Ala alot of other fighters who so heavily rely on power.

Hope I'm wrong though and hope to see him in with the big boys soon.
