1. i was searching for a thread on this but couldn't find it.

Just watched it. Every white person in America (and Canada) should watch it. Those that have seen it know why I say that.

I thought it was a great film

Get Out was overrated as FUCCCKKKKKK!

And I know it's blasphemous to say that as a black man, but I can't deny the facts. It was a mediocre horror movie, at best.

The acting was pathetic. Totally hollow characters who you could care less about.

Samuel L. Jackson made a valid point about the casting - a British brother had no business playing the main role, since interracial relationships have never carried the same taboo in the UK as it does in the US.

The Brit clearly didn't know how to act like an American brother.... and probably didn't "get" the American stigma of dating a white girl. And the white girl they casted was the worst actress I've ever seen in my life.

They should have casted Michael B. Jordan or someone like that.

  3. The point of the film for me was the way "Liberal" white people patronize black people....when trying to hard to make us comfortable. That was nailed spot on. I experience that frequently. This is what was brilliant about the film. Make no mistake X, interracial relationships do carry a stigma in the UK...perhaps not quite as much as in the states, but still there. So SLJ's point is typical American ignorance.

Back to the plot...it was a fairly unique concept, had a good twist and it was fun.

You're waaay off base here, ya cunt.

Agreed, enjoyable movie, great one time watch. The Anthony Anderson type character was funny.

He didn't seem off to me as a black guy at all. I'm not even sure wtf that Jackson comment is even suppose to mean. What does a 70 year old black millionaire no about modern inter racial dating. And this just wasn't the kind of movie for scene chewing actors. Very good movie.

its good, but Being Jon Malkovich is better

  7. I remember watching that on an 8-hr flight to a holiday to Barbados and I got loaded on Rum & Orange first.
Needless to say, the subsequent movies watched were more in line with 'popcorn'...

Nice ending but predictable. I'm sorry but the first hour was just highlighting racism and I don't watch movies for that.

  9. I hear you, I don't tend to like films that focus on racism either, however with this one it was cleverly and artistically done. They didn't hit you over the head with a sledge hammer the way spike lee would have done. It showed the subtle forms of racism that most people don't realize they are guilty of. That was impressive.
