I really don't get how GSP's fights have been boring. In both matches with Alves and Penn, I was almost in awe of how easy he handled them. These guys are world class. Penn is a HOF'er for sure, Alves is top 5 WW in the world. They couldn't do jack against GSP. Pure domination. It isn't like he pop-shotted and ran for five rounds. He controlled both fights in every aspect. I honestly just don't get it. Have we got to the point if the guy doesn't throw bombs until someone goes to sleep we are calling him boring?

I think he's an excellent tactician. People want to see a welterweight Chuck Liddell or Wanderlei Silva. GSP is fantastic at figuring out a gameplan and then sticking to it. He handled a dangerous powerpuncher with ease, and he completely outworked him. He even dropped Alves with a headshot in round 3 or 4. I didn't find it boring at all.

GSP had a brilliant performance. It was awesome to watch. He really learned from the Serra loss. I thought Alves had a good shot to win IF GSP didn't learn from the Serra loss. He dominated the clear cut number one contender and did it with an injury for half of the fight. 170 is one of the most competitive divisions in MMA and he should stay there.

He broke the will of the spectators and that's about it.

Before the Serra fight,GSP didn't really have an identity,he was just all over the place on how he wanted to fight but now he has made it a priority to be a ground fighter first and use everything else when he needs to.I think GSP will carry the flag as the most dominant fighter in MMA ones Fedor hangs it up.

I really thought Fitch, Penn and Alves would all give GSP tougher fights than they did. The dude is on a different level right now at 170. Handling an animal like Alves with such ease moves him ahead of Silva for me. So let's see:

    1) Machida
    2) Fedor
    3) GSP
    4) Silva
    5)Torres

Lol Machida at the top for beating Rashad and an overrated Thiago Silva? He is good I admit, but not No 1 bro.

Dude, first of all, it's is easy to say Silva is overrated AFTER Machida destroyed him. Second, Machida hasn't lost a single round in 7 UFC Fights.

Hell, you can discredit all of Machida's opponents AFTER the fact. Hell, I remember Sokoudjou coming to the UFC straight off of knocking out Arona and Lil Nog in back-to-back fights. He had a ton of hype and Machida beat him like he had never even fought before.

I admit I am more than a little biased about Machida, but the dude's hype goes way beyond just destroying Silva and Evans. However, it doesn't hurt the hype meter to absolutely destroy two previous undefeated fighters.

He is a great fighter and I am a huge fan. But #1 is a b it much at this stage in the game. Fedor, GSP, and Silva are all much more proven.

I dig the love for Machida. I thinkk the guy is the truth at 205(to bite a line form BTG). But my top five still has to go as is.

    1. Fedor(with a steak like that and the champions in its wake....duhhh.)
    2. GSP (how can you not with the destruction of a HOF'er and a top 3 WW )
3.Silva (drops down one with two lackluster performances.
    4. Penn
    5. Torres
