Huh? Mercardo robbed? You're joking, right?

Can you imagine...you're fighting in your native Ecuador, drop your opponent twice and yet...your hometown judges give you a draw?

Who do you think got robbed?

Hopkins dropped him a couple times and each time it was ruled a "slip." Not to say Segundo didn't bring it but I thought Hops deserved the decision and at least one of those knockdowns would've gotten him that.

more proof of what I always said, Hopkins was green when he fougth Roy. I don't think the results would have been different between the two because Bernard isn't a powerpuncher , but it would have been nice to get that rematch. But you know Roy is a ducking machine so what can you do. The only time he decided not to duck somebody he got KTFO

That 2nd knockdown was more of a shove than a knockdown.

Do these look like HOMETOWN JUDGES!
Sam Williams | judge: Al DeVito 111-114 | judge: Paul Gibbs 113-113 | judge: Francisco Hernandez 116-114

He was dropped but he was not hurt.

Yeah, right. The fight was in Ecuador, bro. Like they're gonna give the benefit of any semi-close round to the unknown Hopkins.

The first time he was clearly buzzed. The second time, I don't know, his legs seemed weaker though, that's why he fell.

They were damn near carrying him back to the corner in between rounds. He was DONE - simply unable to handle the altitude where they fought and completely unprepared for it.

What exactly are you seeing there? He got up, on steady legs and srgued with the ref rght away.

    Baron "Twinkle Toes" McJack

Yeah, the fact that both knockdown happened near the end of the round supports that.

Look at his reaction when he gets hit by the left hook, particularly his legs. Look at him once he gets up, look how defensive he is, he just can't get Mercado off him with punches. He acted like a hurt fighter, no doubt about it.

Haha! So he didn't look visably hurt, you're interpreting his actions. I see.

You can laugh if you want, but I don't see how you can deduct a fighter is hurt without interpreting his actions and reactions after a punch or a knockdown. Not all fighters stumble around the ring when they're hurt, it doesn't mean they're never hurt. For example, JCC didn't look that hurt when Roger Mayweather landed that bomb but after the fight he said he momentarily lost conciousness and forgot a good deal of what happened after the punch. So he was hurt, but he didn't give obvious signs of that. Hopkins gave a lot more hints he was hurt after the first knockdown.

I don't think I've actually seen that before myself. Just a tough night for Bernard. It happens.
