Was quite impressed with him tonight, he looked decent, well picked shots and was aggressive from the off. Naturally as he was so aggressive he got caught a bit which he needs to work on but it's early days. Good prospect I think.

DeGale is just that, a good prospect. He has improved with every pro fight. It's a shame we wont get to see him fight Darren as a pro.

Yea, Darren looked the best of the olympians to me, shame about what happened. Nice touch of James to give Darren a little shout out in the post fight interview. Will see how Gavin looks later but so far I've been quite impressed with DeGale and look forward to seeing how far he can progress.

He should have fought one of the scrubs that "performed" in the main event. That would have been an appropriate opponent at this stage of his career.

Yeah me to but I guess we will never know. I like the kid Gavin he's a tidy boxer.

Agreed. Fucking awful fight, both should be ashamed. I would fancy DeGale against either of those two by next year.

He looked very very good tonight, didn't waste anything and didn't take anything unnecessary. Did look a bit too big for that Saville bloke though I don't think it would have made much difference anyway.

...yet to see the fight, but i like Degale. I thought he got a lot of unfair criticism for his debut fight. As always, as much as the medal brings fame and fortune, it is somewhat of an albatross around a young prospects neck.

I like George Groves a lot, very talented but without the pressure that James is under....the two seem to be on a collision course...hopefully we see them in the ring somewhere down the road, but while they are both unbeaten.

As for Sutherland, he was a strong prospect...obviously we'll never know what he could've achieved, yet it nags me that some people are claiming he was a nailed on world champion....he looked poor in his last fight.

Gavin was our best amatuer, finding it hard to guage him as a pro though
