What do you think of him? I've only seen him fight Sanchez and I was impressed. He looks solid, and his ground game seemed better than average for a British fighter. I hadn't even heard of him before that fight, even though he comes from my town. Ironically he lost his next fight, has anyone seen that fight? I saw him in my local supermarket recently, and he looks pretty fucking big for a 170 pounder. Usually MMA fighters look smaller than expected. He's a legit 6'2, and more built than he looks on TV.
Mike Pyle isn't a wrestler nor did he do anything resembling wrestling in that fight. Hathaway is the wrestler.
Pyle repeatedly judo tripped him to the ground, passed his guard, and dominated him on the ground. Pyle doesn't do wrestling at all. He's a BJJ fighter.
OK, interesting. How do you guys rate Hathaway? Sanchez was a pretty good win. Maybe Pyle was a bad matchup for hm.
Pyle was having success in the striking department also. Frankly, Hathaway got schooled that night. I still see Hathaway as a strong prospect....he's big for welterweight and has shown as solid all-round game, and he's only 23. That Rick Story win continues to look better and better btw. He fights Kris McCray in a couple of weeks time...should be a comfortable enough comeback.
I would agree with everything here. His signature wins are Story and Sanchez and both look better all the time. I like Hathaway, I really hope he continues to improve. Adamiw- who does Hathaway train with?
His main camp in here in Brighton http://www.ztfightskool.com/ I think he also trains in London though, not sure. I agree his wins over Story and Sanchez are definitely wins that look better each fight those guys have. And it's why I'm surprised he was beaten by Pyle.
