I rented it from a redbox kiosk sorta machine....will watch it tomorrow...

Saw this. Kind of depressing, but still a good movie. I don't think it has the replay value of a Black Hawk Down though. 6/10



SPOILERS:

By the way he gave 3 options:
A.) They shoot the hostages
B.) They tie them up which leaves the possibility of the hostages geting ate by wolves
C.) Let them go

They chose C and just as they expected, the hostages rat them out and everyone including a whole team of rescuers gets killed. Only one guy survives. They had already aborted the mission and decided to hike to the pick up spot, so why didn't they do option D?

D.) Take the hostages with you so they can't rat you out and release them when your helicopter lands to pick you up. Fucking duh.

makes the guys look tough as hell..i wonder if that part is real

i read the taliban didnt fight the villagers in reality..they backed down right away

 

Pretty good movie. Will watch it again.

 

Could have been a really, really good movie. Instead it's just a good movie. Too much Rambo, not enough Saving Private Ryan. I get that Navy Seals are tough dudes, but there was obviously a lot of embellishment going on. The real story would have been compelling enough without turning it into the movie they were shooting during Tropic Thunder.

Agree. Similar set-up to Black Hawk Down, but not nearly as compelling to me.
