A good Korean movie from last year was Burning.

 

Nope. Not on Netflix as of yet. I actually rented it off PPV.

 

Saw this one, highly recommended

Definitely a deserving Best Picture!

I was worried that mediocre piece of shit Once Upon a Time in Hollywood was gonna win.

 

Ok I might need to check this out, everyone I've spoken to about films recently has been raving about it.

 

I feel Pacino was robbed for Best Supporting Actor.

Wasn't a goddamn thing particularly good about Pitt's performance in OUATIHW.

 

I thought Anthony Hopkins wouldve got it for The Two Popes.

Brad Pitt was okay in ´Once Upon A Time...´ (certainly better than Di Caprio), but nothing stellar.

 

DiCaprio is fading. The guy hasn't turned in a good performance since Wolf of Wall Street.

 

Koreans make great movies.

Seems like they still care about making movies with substance and nuance - something American filmmakers have stopped caring about.

Point is, it should have been where it belongs: Best Foreign Language Film.

Otherwise, there shouldnt be a separate fuckin catergory.

Its just Hollywood doing something they feel is right because they feel they should do, and being open to things happening outside of their epicenter.

 

Di Caprio was better than Pitt in that movie.

 

Pacino was brilliant as Hoffa. Total horseshit that he didn't get it.

I can't believe "What's in the box??" boy got that award.

 

It does feel like a political decision what with all the inclusivity and diversity talk that’s been going on so much. At the same time maybe the film deserves it.

Maybe he just got the Marlon Brandon complex: knowing he is a great actor and will be praised no matter what, now is simply phoning his acting parts.

 

DiCaprio is not and has never been anything approaching a great actor

 

Pitt made him look 2nd-rate in 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood'.

Watching Di Caprio in that was awkward at times...

 

DiCaprio was never a great, but he's had a couple of performances which were very good.

His two best performances were The Aviator and Wolf of Wall Street.

But no, he's never been some young De Niro or Pacino level talent.

 

He’s a decent actor, he gets the job done

he’s never done a role I couldn’t easily picture 10 other guys doing as well or way better

 

He just gets it done in every category. He has good, but not exceptional ability.

And charisma wise, he's alright, but he doesn't have the kind of electric charisma of a Nicholson, Newman, Redford, Washington, Eastwood, ect.

 

I like DiCaprio, he's a very good actor, but yeah I'd agree that he isn't great. He's charismatic though, that's basically what he relies on for the most part. Which American actors from his generation would you have ahead of him, just out of curiosity?
