Ruiz is ranked #2 and Lyakhovich is ranked #3. Given the controversial nature of his loss to #1-ranked Valuev, it's not an unreasonable request. Lyakhovich is shit; he'll lose. Ruiz'll probably get another title shot.
The King is back! John Ruiz has the MOST impressive resume out of today's sorry bunch of heavyweights!! Hell, just to compare, Ruiz has only been stopped once in his career by one of the most hardest punchers in the history, while some of the current champions were beaten down by the likes of Ross Purritu and Corey Sanders!

As a numbers game I am impressed more by a #2 contender beating a #3 (or #3 beating #2), contender than #1 beating #14. Actually considering Valuev's gift over Ruiz, maybe they should just rematch if Ruiz beats Lyakovich. It don't matter either way Chagaev beats either guy as he already has beaten them both.
Insane if you think Ruiz beats Liakovich.. Only chance he Ruiz has to win is if Sergei comes in hurt or out of shape. I am told he's in great shape and perfect health. I pick Liakovich over both Chagaev and Valuev as well. And as a preemptive measure.. yes PUG, I am a homer and Kenny Weldon is the god of boxing trainers..
Ruiz clearly beat Valuev. It wasn't even a bad fight. You should have understood the antecedents by the phrase, "why not?"
wow, responses are all over the place on this fight. Not that I think much of Ruiz, but I never thought anything of Lyakhovich. If Ruiz is in half-decent shape, I can see him clutching and hugging his way to a decisive victory. The fact that both have been out for almost a year, and agreed to the fight this close to fight night doesn't have me holding out hope for much of a fight, though. I'm more than willing to guarantee that it won't make anyone forget Diaz-Diaz.
