If you haven't seen it, look it up, it is fucking absurd. To punctuate the scene, the ref counts to ten even though Machen is already getting medical treatment

 

Just sick. The last barrage in particular was so unnecessary.

 

Boxing was banned in Sweden because of that fight

Here's my pick for worst stoppage ever in a high profile matchup ... Ike Williams KO of Beau Jack where he must land 40 shots without reply and even pleads with the ref to stop it... go to about 7:20 to see the beginning of the end

 

Not only was it a shitty stoppage but if you watch the entire fight video the ref gives the guy a FULL 10 count as hes nearly dead on the canvas

 

Williams was very good. Impressive display of power, speed and technique

 

Mercer vs Morrisson..........in fact Mercer had a few. There was another one where he was allowed punch some bum called Jeff or Levi or something out of the ring as the guy squatted on the ropes.

He was awesome... one of the best of a great era. Beau Jack was no slouch himself

 

Jeff Pegues. I remember that madness. The ref should have been counting the knockdown but instead he let Mercer get in a unprotected shot.

yeah rewatching it, it was pretty bad. Hurtado wasn't out before the last 2, but he was held by the rope. Should have gotten a standing 8 (if the rules allowed it in that fight)

nah it was ok given two factors

1. Hurtado was winning handily and it was almost over
2. Whitaker cant punch at all.
