As a movie this was probably the best Bond ever, but as a Bond movie not as much so. The acting was great as was the storyline, but I missed the old humor and playful approach

Just went to see this today..

we saw it in the IMAX setup.. was pretty good movie!

 

Just watched this felt it was slow and boring just like the second one and just like the second one I'm pretty sure I'll never watch it again. The last Mission Impossible shits all over this.

 

But, do you like Bond movies generally or...?

 

Yeah, I normally do. I really liked Casino Royal but the last two were just underwhelming, slow and boring. It's like the action scenes they tried to make failed in comparison to other action films.

 

Just saw this, I thought it was good but I probably liked Casino Royale better. Bardem was good but they could have done more with his character, I thought it would be more over the top and some of his lines were not well written imo. I think Mads Mikkelsen was a better villain, but Bardem's was certainly better than the little French dude from QoS.

 

'Casino Royale' is a lot better.
It contains just enough elements from what constitutes 'classic' Bondisms without being OTT like the awful Pierce Brosnan movies: it's got a good villain...a hot 'Bond-girl' who actually is 'involved' in the movie...some neat but not silly gadgets...some great locations...great set-pieces (especially in the casino)...and Stench's 'M' is in for as long as she needs to be.

Ask ANYONE what they think of 'Skyfall' and they'll come up with the same answer EVERY time: "it's got a great villain in it"...and that alone isn't good.

 

The Pierce Brosnan Bond films sucked. At least I think they do because I refuse to watch them. They just got this generic look to them that I can't take seriously.

One thing I thought would have been funny in Skyfall is that when Bardem said he broke his cyanide pill and it burned his insides but didn't kill him, it would have been cool if M had calmly said, you were supposed to have swallowed it.
