I watched the weigh-in early today, and I have to admit, I think Josh is completely under GSP's skin. I have a feeling GSP will be too patient tomorrow night. He will try to control himself because he knows Josh wants him to lose his cool and attack mindlessly. As a counter, I think GSP will be just the opposite and NOT aggressive enough.

I can't shake being on the Koscheck bandwagon. As much as Josh was completely slimy during TUF, I can't help leaning toward him in this fight.

I may have been a little tough in saying this card wasn't PPV worthy. While most of the fighters aren't highly ranked, fights like Alves-Howard, Miller-iveira, and Struve-McCorkle, could be entertaining.

The main event also has the possibility of being a good stand up battle. Both are solid wrestlers and I would guess Josh has improved his takedown defense from the first fight. This might stay upright longer than expected.

    Preliminary card (UFC.com live stream)
    • Lightweight bout: Mark Bocek vs. Dustin Hazelett
    • Middleweight bout: Joe Doerksen vs. Dan Miller
    Main card

    • Lightweight bout: Jim Miller vs. Charles Oliveira
    • Welterweight bout: Thiago Alves vs. John Howard
    • Lightweight bout: Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig
    • Heavyweight bout: Stefan Struve vs. Sean McCorkle
    • Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St-Pierre (c) vs. Josh Koscheck

I agree, Struve will never be a title contender, but he is very entertaining to watch.

    I like the Alves/Howard fight.

    GSP the boxer

Also, that spinning back kick that Josh tried near the end of round 5 was pretty funny, with his short little legs.

once again, GSP dominates in boring fashion, this time with his stand up. Got to give it to him that he's versatile in playing it safe. still, GSP is imo, without a doubt the p4p number 1, I doubt anyone touch him at ww. He probably gonna face SHield next who should be way overmatch.

Jim Miller, Mac Danzig and Mark Bocek were the most impressive guys walking away from UFC 124.

Miller and Bocek shared submission of the night. The triangle Boecek slapped on Hazlett was incredible.

After subbing Hazlett, Bocek called himself the best BJJ guy at 155 and called out Sotiropolous. Good luck with that Mark. You're probably 4th or 5th depending on which division Penn is occupying.

I think GSP is a great to watch honestly, he has the best gameplans of any mma fighter ive ever seen. saying that i still believe that he is waaay too small for anderson silva. Ive seen both of them in person and it just doesnt compare.

I think that is where GSP and Silva differ. Silva has the height to compete at 205, whereas GSP doesn't have the height to compete and 185. He's also quite muscular at 170, and more mass on his frame will probably just be a detriment.

I agree, but GSP has long arms and a huge reach, he could fight 185, plus he makes a pretty big cut. He was a lot bigger than Kos.

The problem is with people thinking that GSP NEEDS to move up to face Silva to prove his worth. It's absolutely untrue.

Silva is a huge MW that walks around at, what, 210-215? Rogan said 230 one time but I find that hard to fathom. Nevertheless, he would have such a significant advantage that it makes zero sense for GSP.

I'd love to see it and think GSP's wrestling would give him a shot given how poorly Silva looked against a great wrestler. That being said, it shouldn't be the logical next step for GSP.

Silva is cutting from 192. He only walks at 215 when hes not training.

    GSP is cutting from 185...

    Do the math.

Well, actually I don't need to do the math. This is a quote from Anderson Silva. I'm not sure, but I would guess he knows more about his cut than you do.....

I can't wait to see how you try to spin out of contradicting a quote from the fighter himself.

    Holy shit... :Giggle:

just because silva is bigger, gsp shouldn't go for the challenge especially when there will be fans clamoring for the fight to happen?

I think GSP would have a great chance to beat Silva. It would all depend on if he could get him down or not and I think he can.

if old ass couture moves up in weight and fight much bigger guys, i dont see a reason for gsp to not do the same. plus, the size disparity is greatly exaggerated. i'm sure his strength and conditioning coach would prep him well enough to transition into a middleweight

Or you can learn to read. Might be hard to do with a GED, but try it sometime.
