leonard and Hearns were too big to compete at 130lbs so scratch them off you list . The only fighters relevant for this discussion are those that could have competed from 130 through to 154, cause this is what it's about.
At age 34 Leonard was being dominated by Norris and at age 40 he was being annihilated. Floyd maintained a top fighter status for almost 20 years. People don't quite grasp how difficult that is to achieve

Armstrong fought in the 30s which had weaker talent than Floyd's era. I don't see Armstrong beating de la Hoya and Pacquiao and Canelo . He'd struggle with Castillo and Corrales and Marquez to be honest with ya. No way he's going undefeated fighting all those guys. No frickingnway. Not sure he even beats Cotto.
But what I must remind people is that what's impressive about Floyds career is not specifically what he did at Welterweight and Jnr Middleweight, because those in isolation are just good achievements but nothing exceptional, but rather what he did from 130lbs all the way to 154lbs. Remember he's been a champion since 1998 so for 17 years he dominated those divisions at the top. No on else has done that: either winning championship fights for that long or staying undefeated for that long and jumping through so many weights at the championship level for that long. Statistically he's on his own in that regard. Unless someone can educate me differently..

Every time Duran lost you fucks ( with all due respect) said that it's because he was above his prime weight and that as he got into his 30s he was no longer prime yada yada yada. Therefore, I'm sorry, but Duran doesn't qualify as someone that would have duplicated floyds feat from 130 to 154 over 17 years and over all of the guys that Floyd fought. No sir . In individual MMs you can make somewhat of a case because MMs assume the fighter at his absolute best but Duran has proven to be inconsistent at the very least ( more like certain styles he can't beat truthfully) and degraded obviously over time whereas Floyd has been consistent as consistent is.

Remember, Floyds feat is not just who the fighters were that he beat but over the vast length of time that he was doing it. Let's see Whitaker at age 38 beat Canelo at 154lbs.
