Fun card. The Varner/Bendo fight should be entertaining.

It will also be fun to see Faber fight someone not named Mike Brown in a while. Hipefully his hand is good again.

Curious to see how Brown comes back after his loss as well.

Good stand up fight. Great head movement, awesome feints, beautiful use of the jab and uppercut. Can´t ask for much more. :bears::bears:

 

They are both world class wrestlers, their stand up sucks, does not mean they are bad fighters. would two world class boxers show great wrestling in a mma fight?

 

I don´t give a shit, as long as the right guy wins. If he doesn´t, I´ll hate. I really had to refrain myself from using some nasty racials slurs earlier, when I had to watch the poor attempts of Semerzier to apply a guillotine for ten minutes, before it finally occured to him, that you also need to win rounds. :doh:

 

which fight are you talking about? I thought you were complaining about the Shalorus fight. The right guy definitely won there.

Faber by RNC in the 3rd. Looks like we're gonna see Faber\Aldo.

I like Faber a lot, but Aldo was the 2009 fighter of the year, and he's a beast. I can't see Faber...or anyone at 145 beating Aldo right now.

Faber won't hold the belt again. I think his best days are behind him. That was a good free TV card.

 

Varner reminds me of Tito Ortiz....hates the fans being against him, but instead of trying to win them over, just adds fuel to the fire by attacking them in the post-fight interview!

 

Varner is such a bitch. He is one of the biggest shit talkers in the sport and thinks he is Gods gift to MMA. Im so glad he got handled.

I like the kid Will from Dallas, REED. thanks for the clip. You can tell he has a bit of pro boxing in his background. Nice crisp punching with decent footwork(by mma standards of course). He looks like a really raw Miguel Torres (mainly with his standup didn't see any ground game). Nice takedown defense too. I love seeing new guys and watching them come up. I'll keep a lookout for him:bears:

Something tells me the WEC won't hang on to Aldo too long. This guy is UFC bound for sure. I know he is small, but a bit of weight training and this guy is headed to LW division in the UFC. Especially when BJ runs out of guys to keep beating up on. After Jose destroys Faber, there isn't a whole lot of matches to be made for him in the WEC. The LW division in the WEC is so far beneath him it wouldn't make any sense. Aldo puts anyone of them to sleep in minutes.

Glad Ben Henderson won. Can't stand Varner. Ben Henderson is just soooo average to me though. The whole WEC LW division is this way to me. I'd do away with it if it was up to me. If you can't fight at 145, move to the UFC. The mediocrity of the WEC LW division does the org no favors IMO.

 

He's not that small and he's only 23. Body is still maturing. I agree with you, the move to 155 is imminent.

 

I really liked that Assunciao took a chance against Faber even though it cost him since he was going to lose a decision. Faber is really technically unsound. His lunging crap is fun to watch and he gets away with it on athleticism, but it is really crude.

I like Varner just fine and he seemed like a better fighter than Henderson, but Henderson earned that win. Unlike the Faber fight where Assunciao sort of gave the submission to Faber, Henderson fought a negative fight and pounced when Varner gave him the opening. Very nice move and he was a gracious winner even if a bit corny.

Jansen didn't seem like a 14-0 guy.

 

I thought the same thing, but it does make sense. Faber has the hype machine behind him still in WEC. As great as Mike Brown is, the only reason most even know of him is because he beat Faber. Sad but true.

 

And he wouldn't have beaten Faber in the 2nd fight if it weren't for the injury.
