Do you like him or loathe him?

 

I like him....mostly.

 

He makes me laugh.

 

Hate him. Could be the german synchro, though.

 

Never found him funny. I avoid his films as much as Adam Sandler's & Bill Murray's.

 

Utterly unfunny in everything he's done.

And I think he knows it too, why he makes tons of movies.

 

Bill Murray is awesome. I'm pretty indifferent about Farrell, like Anthony said he's good as a support guy, as a lead he's a bit much.

 

Who do YOU think is funny? I mean, besides Hitler and the "Fuck Her Right In The Pussy" guy?

Take his most recent 'magnum opus': an entire movie based on squeezing as many homophobic gang-rape jokes in as possible, offset with some 'ironic racism'.

But I'm actually going to back-track here and state that I didn't mind 'Talldega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby'

 

His best film is Stranger than Fiction which is brilliant

Anchorman, Step Brothers and Elf all made me laugh. I think those are the only ones i've seen.

 

He can be funny but I only like him in small doses. Better suited to sketch comedy (or supporting roles like Anthony mentioned) than feature length films. He could be tedious even on SNL, although not entirely his fault as they really overused him.

 

Yeah it was definitely the most 'reined in' performance I've seen from him and it really worked. Very underrated film that.

 

I tend to hate comedies. They tend to be silly, juvenile ridiculous stuff.

 

Most good comedy film is generally ensemble work. Ferrell's not a stand-up comic, he's a performer.

 

I thought he was funny, but the concept kind of sucked. I wish they let him play more baseball, instead of watering down how long he was able to stay on the field because of some sanctity of game bullshit. It was fucking meaningless spring training bullshit, let him play the field for more then one out at a time.

 

Then you would love The Birdcage. It's a comedy about fags.

 

Ferrell and Kevin Hart are equally annoying at this point. Both of them are funny in small doses as supporting actors, but as the leads they're both extremely annoying and tiresome.

 

Word. All of those "funny" guys are annoying. Robin Williams was as annoying as fuck (RIP), Adam Sadler, Ben Stiller, Steve Carell....they are all annoying fucks. I even detest that motherfucking Jason Bateman.

Strangely enough though...I can tolerate Jim Carey...who's the silliest of them all....but he's unique in his silliness and I appreciate it.
